Friday Fave Five

Linking up with a new link today. Friday Fave Five with Mom's Got Mail. I read it each week so I decide to hop on the blog hop this week.

Here are Five of my favorite things this week!!!!

Favorite Target Find:

C and I went to Target yesterday and since he was being so good we walked the toy aisles too.  This just jumped out at me and I thought it was awesome. I always says its so great I don't have a girl since I would have put this right in my cart. Uhm it almost made my cart anyway :)

Favorite Weekend Activity:

Football starts here tomorrow and the game is early so we can all go. The boys are going to love it and I'm ready.  Of course if you've been reading I'm also loving that for some of the other games M is going to take the boys so I will have me time and just knowing that is coming makes me beyond happy.

Favorite Magazine:

My favorite magazine and I just had to resubscribe for more.  I used to get it from Mycokerewards but it doesn't look to be an option anymore but luckily magazine.com had a special and I'm getting it for another year not too bad. Plus this is the cover coming today and I love The Walking Dead and Norman Reedus.

Favorite Crafty stuff:
All of the new items in the Stampin' Up Holiday catalog especially all the new Washi tape and yes I just placed an order for all the new washi from the new year long idea book and the holiday catalog. So many great colors and fun fun designs. This one is Santa & Co. and this whole line is so cute with lots of fun looking Santas and colors.

Favorite Organization:

I've posted about this before but it is my Raskog cart from Ikea. OMG is it AWESOME. My boys are in love with it too and we do art everyday. While it has not stayed where I think it should be stored and now kindof lives between the boys chairs at my kitchen table it at least gets the stuff off my table and into one spot.  I'm in love and I'm still debating needing another one.

So I think that is it for today. I love reading Jennifer's post each week so glad I had some time to follow along today.  Check out her blog and then hop over and check out a couple more. They are all so great and you never know what new things you will find that you just NEED right now ;)

Happy Friday Everyone and have a great Labor Day weekend!!!!

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up again today for Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • We had Cs meet the teacher yesterday and I didn't take a single picture. #whatkindofscrapbookeramI
  • With that he will be going MWF starting next week and I'm beyond excited.  It really isn't much time but I hope to get the basics done like grocery shopping and maybe some Disney work without my little helper. Of course I only have 3 weeks before N tracks out but I'll make it work.
Playground fun
  • My sister and I are thinking of driving down to WDW to take in a night of Mickey Not So Scary Halloween Party. Yes we are that crazy to drive 10hours each way for one day in the parks. :) Whose in?
Isn't this how everyone eats their Gigi cupcakes?
  • Yes I have alot of pictures in this post and they have nothing to do with the thoughts except I've been slacking on blogging and I feel very behind in sharing.
  • I'm going to be so sad if Donny goes home tonight on Big Brother. I did not expect him to win but I was hoping he would make it a couple more weeks.  Not sure who I want to win but if its the best player I'm saying Derrick. He still has everyone snowed.
The boys at the Durham Bulls game. This is the one I shared on IG
  • I'm working on cleaning out the boys closets and have signed up for a consignment sale in a couple weeks. So sad that there are so many clothes both boys are too big for but so happy to have some space in the closets.
  • College football starts this weekend. All of us are going to this Saturdays game but I'm really excited for the games I send M and the boys to without me. As much as I love going having a little me time is what really makes me happy. Now if I could only know the game times soon. I hate the way they wait until tv picks which games to show. It makes it hard to plan things.
The picture I took first and I didn't share LOL
  • I went to Ns curriculum night last week and his teacher is great. I'm already in love with here and its only been a couple weeks. I think she is going to be great for him and he is really showing great progress already.
  • He made a point of telling me to check out his self portrait that they made with pen!!!  The way he told it those pens must be better then sliced bread. LOL He was so happy that I had to find it while I was there.  Well uhm does it look like Sloth from Goonies to anyone else?

So that is it for my very random Thursday Thoughts this week. What are you all up to this week? Any big Labor Day plans?

Wantable Makeup August 2014 Box Review

disclaimer: This post contains my referral link and I will get credits if you decide to join through my links.

Yea it's that time again and I got my Wantable makeup box in the mail today. If you remember I had to return last months box and you can see that here. Just to follow up there was no issues in the return and I filled out the online info and they sent return postage so I sealed the box back up and sent it back. Later that week I had the credit back in my account.  Easy peasy and so glad that they have that option.  I did go in and modify my questions after returning and was eagerly waiting for a new box this month.

As I've told you before Wantable  has one of the most indepth signup surveys out there. They have the main category and then some questions within each one. Since I didn't care for last months I went in and tweaked it some this month to hopefully get a box better reflecting my likes.  Here is my chart this month.

Here is the first look into the box and let me say the box felt a little heavy this month so I was very curious what was in there.

Oh so exciting and is it just me or is it even more exciting when the items come in a box since I then get another little mini reveal once I take everything out.  I had seen one of these before and I had seen the names of a couple others but I was excited to see what was in the boxes.

Here it all is.  The boxes did not disappoint.  One of the issues I had with my box last month was the tone of the blush colors and I said I liked my colors to be a little more pink and boy did they deliver on that.  LOL

Marsk Mineral Blush in Watermelon ($42) - This is so bright but I'm loving it. The info sheet says a little goes a long way and I'm believing every minute of that statement. LOL  I had never heard of this brand but it is 100% natural, mineral-based loose powder that's strictly cruelty free.  Those are always a plus.

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil ($18) - I actually have this pencil and use it often. It really does work wonders on my under eye darkness.

Vincent Longo Lip Gloss in Berry ($22) - I had heard of this brand but I've never used it and I'm loving this tons.  The color screams fall to me and I'm a sucker for all glosses anyway so right up  my alley.

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Blush Pallete ($45) - This has me really intrigued as I've never really gotten a blush pallete before and just buy one blush use it till its gone and then get another. Should I be mixing it up more?  This says that it is great for travel and that you will have all the options you need in one convenient case.

Wantable  costs $36 a month if you have a subscription and $40 a month if you just want to get one month and this month my box had a value of $127!!! That is amazing and totally worth it but if I had not liked it I could have sent it back like I did last month.  Since I got so much blush this month I might go into my survey and put blush to a dislike for awhile but we'll see as blush is something I use daily so I'm always on the lookout for a fun new brand and color.

Since Wantable  promises to send more items that you Love and never send items you dislike everyone's boxes are so different.  Did any of you get a box this month? What fun did you get in your box?  My next box from them should be an Intimates box at the beginning of next month and I'm still awaiting the start of the fitness box. That one sounds fun to me too.

Happy Wantable  Day,
Jenny

Ipsy August 2014 bag review

disclaimer: My referral link is included in this post so if you decide to join through my link I get points for future goodies.

It is that time of the month again when my lovely pink Ipsy envelope comes in the mail. Mine actually came the other day but its been busy busy here so besides looking in it quickly I hadn't overly analyzed yet.  I of course knew what was coming since I always look online but its still fun to to get the bag and see the sizes and the actual colors.

I really love seeing this envelope in the mail and I love sending it back out to someone else with new goodies in it. I reuse most of the packaging that comes in my boxes so if you trade with me always be on the lookout.

I pulled everything out and had a first look.

This months theme was Beauty Schooled. Ipsy says Learn the rules, so that you can break them. This month, you'll discover that you'll never stop learning - especially, when it comes to the world of beauty. With everything from styling skills, application techniques, to channeling your inner confidence and uniqueness... With the help of ipsy and your August Glam Bag, you're about to get "schooled."

And now for a better look at the items.

  • Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Fresh and Elegant ($1.25) - I don't see this sample on the site but to a full compact is available in each color.  I actually like the pink shade of this and would consider getting it in a full size.  I wear blush daily and I love the pinkish shades when I grab it.
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara ($5.50) - I love this and actually just got it not to long ago when Urban Decay was giving away samples when it launched and I've been using it.  The other option was an eyeliner that I wish I would have gotten since I have this item but this is a great item and I will get around to using it.
  • Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Liner ($2) - oh eyeliner I have a love hate with you. I do wear it when I'm dressing up a bit but with all these boxes I have so many blacks that I really don't need another one. This one is a cute little size though so I'm thinking I will stash it in my togo bag.
  • Jershey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner ($5.50) - The info says this is 100% natural and USDA certified organic with fresh organic flavors, no petrochemicals, nothing artificial and no petrochemicals. So it seems like its pretty good for you and I love a good chapstick so I already dropped this in our park bag.
  • StriVectin Present Perfect Antioxidant Defense Lotion ($8.70) - I actually don't think I've tried this StriVectin product before and I'm excited to give it a try. I've liked all the other products of theirs I have tried so this one is good.  I will work it in as my moisturizer since it says it fights the early signs of again and prevents wrinkles.
  • The bag - I don't really put a value on the bag but this one is pretty cute and its small and round which is different from the other bags they have sent.
Overall I'm giving this month a thumbs up. There is no way that Ipsy  could know that I already have the mascara and I do love it so it will get used.  In all I came up with a value of $22.95 for this months bag which is pretty good since Ipsy is only $10 a month plus tax in some states.  There were again many variations so you never really know what you are going to get. This is one of my favorite subscriptions each month and the pink envelope makes me so happy.  Did you get Ipsy  this month? What came in yours?

Happy Ipsy  day,
Jenny

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up again today for Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • I'm not sure where the weeks have gone. We have been crazy busy and before I know it we have the weekend and that is busy again.
  • I am so excited with my Raskog cart from Ikea.  I saw Rambling Jenn (which yes is what I call her when I talk about her to M :)) and I knew I needed to get one.  C and I filled ours up this week and it is awesome. It sits by my kitchen table and the boys have been using it everyday.

  • I went to the David Gray concert with friends earlier this week and I knew more songs then I was expecting. It was a really good show even though it did rain the whole time and while I was under a rain poncho I still got wet but poor M was soaked all the way through. I'm not sure I've seen him so wet in awhile.

  • I've been working on getting my Stampin' up stuff ready for the consignment sale. My friend is picking it up today and the sale is next Saturday. I'm so excited to weed out some things I no longer need and to see if I can find any new goodies I just have to have.  If you are in the Raleigh/Cary area and are interested in more info shoot me a message and I will get it too you.
  • Speaking of consignment sales. I go to the Upscale Resale sale here each year and I find some hidden gems for the boys. They were having a contest with one of their vendors that will also be set up and I won a free shirt for C. Woohoo it is a Frozen shirt with Olaf, Hans and Sven and it will have his name on it.  I can't wait it will be so cute.
  • I didn't get a chance to watch last nights Big Brother but I did watch the scoop on what happened after the football comp. Lets just say if Frankie doesn't go into acting he is missing out. I really think he has the house snowed.  I'm not sure who I want to win but right now I'm loving Frankie and Derrick. Derrick is another that has them snowed they have no idea he is a cop but then they think Donnie is more then he is so that isn't saying much.

  • Working on my weekend plans now. I'm not sure what all we are doing but I feel like we will be busy. LOL I know I have a girls movie night tomorrow night up at our clubhouse and then my sister moves into her new apartment on Saturday so I'm sure to see her and the family sometime then. M is working Saturday night and Sunday night so the boys and I will just be chilling I think most of the time but I'm sure we will have some fun somewhere.
So that is my random jumping around thoughts at the moment. We pooled all morning so C and I are both kindof zoning a bit this afternoon.

Talk to you soon,
Jenny

August Julep It Girl Box Review

disclaimer: This post contains my referral link and I will get credits towards future purchases if you order through my link.

I had said when I ordered this months Julep that I was obsessed with the collection this month and I really almost ordered the whole lot but I held back so that I can have polishes to hope for in the mystery boxes. :)

As my usual I opted for the It Girl box and since I have not upgraded to the customizable box I'm grandfathered into getting just what is in the box as is. So far this is working for me and I will switch when it starts not working.

This month the It Girl included:
  • Joyce - a Lava Red shimmer
  • Tammi - a Lemongrass shimmer
  • Kirti - a Persimmon iridescent shimmer
I am in love they are so vibrant and shiny.  Here is a closer pic of the colors.

I had to use them right away so I let N help me pick and I put Joyce on my toys and Tammi on my nails. I will say that while Tammi called to me I wasn't sure I was going to love it. When I put it on it is pretty transparent so you could have just a hint of color if you wanted. I put on two fairly good coats and got a gorgeous green shimmer that didn't make my hands look sick. LOL

It was awesome especially when you are out in the sun. It just shines and shines.

You can look back through my posts and know I have a bit of a polish addiction. ;) Julep is my go to polish and I'm really in love. If you want to subscribe you can get a customizable box for $24.99 a month or $19.99 a month if you buy a 3 month subscription.  They also have a deluxe box for $39.99 a month where you will get to pick more products. However right now Julep is having a crazy good special. You can get a 5 piece summer brights set plus the 3 month customizable Maven box for $19.99 a month and you will get your first months box free too.  Just use code FREESIZZLE.  With this special you will get 3 polishes and 2 beauty items in your 5 piece Summer brights box, a 3 month subscription to Julep with the customizable $19.99 a month box plus with the first month free you will be getting all 3 months for only $39.98. After that it will autorenew at $59.97 for 3 more months but you are welcome to cancel at any time.

That is a crazy good deal if you have been thinking of about trying Julep.  I can't wait to see the fall colors that will be coming out soon. They are usually some of my favorite. I love the deep rich colors.

Have a happy nail day,
Jenny

Wantable Intimates August 2014 Review

disclaimer: This post contains my referral link.

I've been a real slacker in my reviews lately and I have a couple here that need to be done but when this box came I knew it had to be one of the first ones I looked at. :)  I skipped my Wantable Intimates in July since I was going to be gone and then I had to send back my makeup one so I was so excited to get this one.

First look and as always I'm amazed at how they get everything in the box. They have some master packers over there at Wantable.  I love a full box and they never disappoint.

Once I moved the paperwork I was already excited by the first look at the items.

Wantable doesn't just have an info card they have an info sheet. Since each box is packed separately this works well.  It also gives you the highlights of the survey that you fill out for them when you sign up. I've said it before but Wantable has the most indepth survey and you really get a pretty good customization in your box that way.  Within each category there are some options too and I did go in and play around a little bit this month and I may do it again coming up. Since it is still so hot here in NC I won't be wearing hose or socks so those will be staying on my dislike list for awhile.  Wantable says you will never get anything you dislike and that you are more likely to get things you love then things you just like.

And now I know you have all been waiting for what goodies I got this month. :)

Eehhh I am so excited. They are bright and fun and so soft.  I know I say this every month but I really love my Wantable subscription and I love that I get 4-5 premium essentials for $36 a month if you join or you can get a one month box or $40.  If you do decide to join they have a very easy skip feature and they offer returns if you are unhappy. That is so rare with these boxes and I've not had to use the return yet but I have been skipping every couple of months depending on what I have going on.

Honeydew Floral Lace and Rayon Tank ($24) - This is so soft and pretty. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but it has a lace back. This is a little pale blue for me but I'm sure I will wear it under something else and it will work great for that.

Rene Rofe thong ($12) - These are right up my alley as I am a thong girl at heart and the color is so bright and pretty.
QT Intimates black/sea foam bikini ($12) - These aren't very exciting but they will be great for when I need a little bit more panty and black is always good for that.

Isadora Fair Isle Purple and Blue Leggings ($18) - Oh wow these are so fun. Not so sure I will wear them with shoes like in the picture ;)

So what do you guys think about this box?  I'm very happy with it and can't wait to get my next one.  Since the value of the box came to $66 which isn't one of my most valuable boxes but since I only paid $36 for the box I'm happy.

Did you opt for the Wantable box this month? What did you get? I'm always curious what everyone gets and if you love it or not.  Wantable just sent out a survey for a new fitness box coming up and I'm thinking of working that one into my rotation. I'm curious to see what might come in there. I've gotten a couple of fitness tanks in my intimates boxes so I'm guessing they will move over but I can't wait to check that out.

Happy boxing,
Jenny

Monday Morning Musings

disclaimer: This post contains referral links.

Hey look its still morning and I'm sending out my musings :)  Who knew I could do that LOL I kindof missed last week somehow.  C and I were busy and then we left for CLT so I could go to CKC and a day of shopping. Woohoo!!!  CKC was small this year but I still managed to find some fun and great Disney themed items that I've already started using when I got scrappy with friends on Saturday. The rest will be used as I keep scrapping my Jan trip and then some will go out when I'm sending documents and other goodies to clients who book trip with me ;)

Oh and since I got to Charlotte early enough we made a trip to IKEA and I got my Raskog cart. I let C pick the color and he opted for the mint.  I was so excited and actually got it put together last night. I'll share a picture of it all filled up when I get the crafty goodies in it.

Since I got scrappy with my friends Saturday you know we always have fun. One of the ladies brought this win. Who knew that they make wine juice boxes.  I guess when we call it mommy juice it can now really look like mommy juice. LOL

So lets see what is on the schedule for this week? C and I will be home a lot working on his potty training. He is really getting good at it but we need some home time to really let it sink in. Then Friday I have Ladies night movie at the clubhouse which should be so much fun.  We also have our playgroups end of summer pool party this week too if the weather holds out. Oh and I should take a picture but my sister moves into her new apartment up here for school this weekend so I have a trunk full of things for her.  I'm hoping to leave it in there so I don't have to move it in and out but we'll see how the week is going.

I've been slacking on sharing my box goodies with you but since I should be home this week I will try and catch up. I know I have a Julep, a Fancy Summer Surprise box, and a Wantable Intimates here that I need to post already.

Stampin' Up is having a great sale on their Big Shots. If you buy a new Big Shot then you get a Free Bundle to go with it.  Check it out here and don't forget to look around at the other goodies on sale in the Weekly Deals and Clearance Rack http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=2001&dbwsdemoid=94340
