Thursday Thoughts

disclosure: This post contains referral links.

Morning everyone  it's Thursday again and I'm linking up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

  • I know I've said before but my sister is a Plant Biology major at NC State so Tuesday C and I went over with her to pick up her plants from the greenhouse.  I have no idea what they are and they are mostly going to my parents house but WOW this was alot of plants for the back of my car and FYI a flat of them is pretty heavy and my arms were sore the next day. LOL

  • .Since N is now obsessed with The Flash we had to watch it last night.  We had company over on Tuesday so we recorded it and then right after dinner he was all The Flash was on last night can we watch it now. LOL  C is really getting into it too. It is kindof fun to have a show that we can watch together that isn't a kiddie show.

  • So I don't have any subscription boxes coming in this month but I did do an online auction in one of my groups and I have all of these packages going out today. LOL  My mailman is going to think I'm bonkers or something. :)

  • Look what came on Friday!!!!! I am beyond excited for it and I will do a full review for it soon but for now I just keep looking at it and smiling.  Like I said before I have tried other methods but I think the paper Erin Condren planner is just the way I need to go and I won't be waiting to get my next one at the end of the year.
It's a rainy day today so C and I are planning to just hang at home. Maybe we will catch up on some tv and then play games. He is really into game right now and its so cute playing with him.

Have a great Thursday and rest of the week!!!

My Paper Pumpkin April 2015 Box Kit

Well I'm very behind in making all of the projects in my My Paper Pumpkin kits and then in blogging the finished products but I had a girls scrapping weekend this past weekend and my sister came over and created the newest kit with a couple changes. So now I'm going to share with you :)

If you don't know what My Paper Pumpkin is it is a monthly subscription box from Stampin' Up that will send you a project box each month with cards or another project that can be completed in about 30 minutes.  The cost of the box is $19.95. If you are not ready to sign up for a monthly box you can now purchase a set 1,3,6,9 or 12 month subscription. These will need to be placed through my Stampin' Up store http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryID=1444&dbwsdemoid=94340  this will give you the prepaid options.

Now onto this months project.....

Here are the contents for this month. It is a really cute set of cards with some great word stamps so you can make them say whatever you want.

Here are the cards my sister made with the cute little envelope cards.  I love love love the little bows on the pocket sleeves.

My sister didn't need any Mother's Day or Father's Day cards and wanted some more generic cards so she looked through my stamp stash and found some cute cat stamps.  They are so fun.

Here are the finished cards.  I am loving the colors and the  stamps she used. She says she can now make them birthday cards or thank you cards or just because cards

So what do you think of this months kit? Did you get a kit this month? Did you make the cards as designed or did you mix it up a bit too?

I really love getting my Paper Pumpkin kit each month and having a fun quick project that I or someone else can make.

Happy Crafting,
Jenny

Currently

I had so much fun last week that I'm linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post again.

Currently.....

Hungry --- The local pick your own strawberry patch opened today across from Cs preschool so of course we had to stop in.

Loving --- the weather. This week looks great in the weather department (well minus a little rain ;)) and I'm hoping it holds out for Saturday since my neighborhood has its first movies on the lawn night and the boys and I want to go.

Inspired --- After this past weekend and getting to scrapbook all weekend I'm inspired to keep going.  I have a stash from the weekend and my supplies are still all over the table and I just want to sit down and make more pages.

Listening to --- Terminal the final book in the Virals Series by Kathy Reichs.  I love to listen to books in the car and I've really enjoyed this series.  I'll be sad to see that it is ending and I'm hoping for a good conclusion.

I'm really having fun with this link up and I hope to check in each Monday.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday again and as usual I'm linking up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • My boys have a new game they play with the neighbors. Hide-N-Seek Facetime. LOL They are each in their own house and then they hide and call the other person. That person tries to figure out where they are over facetime. I have no idea how this could be fun but they think it is hysterical.
  • We did our first family watch night of The Flash on Tuesday. :) The boys were really good getting ready for it but it did not lead to an easier bed time and N still wanted to stay up.  We will have to see how it plays out in weeks to come.

  • C and I just did a massive errand run this morning. He was good and we got a lot done but there is so much to do at home.
  • My house looks like toys exploded in here. LOL but with my allergies acting up my head hurts when I have it bent over so much so its not getting picked up too fast. Oh well my friend can just step over them all this weekend :)
  • In the very random thought category I like getting my books as soon as they are released at least by some authors but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the big hardback books. They are so hard to read and really curl up with but I don't see me waiting for the paperback so I guess the hardback will have to do.  I wish they would just start releasing them at the same time now.
Have a great rest of your Thursday. I'm going to try and do some cleaning up now. :)

Currently

I'm trying out a new link up today.  I'm linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post.

Loving - N started back to school today so yesterday we went to get haircuts for both boys.  I can't believe how much older C looks with his new haircut.

Amazed - at how much food N is eating now. He loves Subway and has decided that it is best for breakfast. :(  I'm not sure that I agree with it but he thinks its delicious.

Enjoying - I'm really enjoying the Flash. I know I talk about it a lot in my TV  Talk Tuesday but it really is getting good and I love how it kindof fits in nicely with the Arrow. They do seamless crossovers and it works well.  Another random but N has decided he likes The Flash and keeps making excuses so he can stay downstairs and watch with me. This week it was a tummy ache ;) but then he asked if I could wait and watch the show with him from now on.  I said of course so now we have our first real joint show to watch.  I'm pretty excited for it.

Anticipating!!!!  - Girls weekend this weekend.  We are staying local but going to a friends house for scrapbooking fun. I also have a friend coming up from out of town to join us and I'm so excited.  I love girls weekend and getting crafty and just chatting away.

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

Ipsy April 2015 Bag Review

disclaimer: This post contains a referral link for Ipsy and if you joining through me I will get credits for future goodies.

Woohoo I was so excited to get my Ipsy bag in the mail yesterday. I've been stalking the mailman for it for a couple days ;)

This months theme was Beautifully Bohemian and I loved it.  This is definitely my style in makeup and I couldn't wait to see what I was getting.  I do always peek in my account but you can't always see the colors and shades you are getting so its exciting to open the hot pick bag.

Let's take a minute and talk about the bag this month. It is gorgeous and I love it.  It is so summery and just pretty perfect. I would take one like this every month.    Ipsy  is a monthly beauty subscription that gets you 5 items in a cute little bag each month for only $10!!!!  It really is my favorite bag to get right now.  This was one of those months that even with this first look I still had to open everything to see the colors.

And now to talk my items all opened up.
  • theBalm Cosmetics NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single in Fit ($3) - I love theBalm products and this is no exception even though I have so many eyeshadows in this similar color I know I will be adding this to my stash and using it.
  • MicaBeauty Eye Primer ($22.50) - I have some primers but they are all liquidy so this is the first balmy one I have.  I have liked my Micabeauty products before so this will go in my togo stash too.
  • Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip and Cheek Tint ($10) - hmm I don't really know what to say for this one. I'm not much of a cheek tint person and I like powder blushes so I know I won't use it for that and I personally don't like lipbalms that require me to use my fingers. I don't like getting goopy like that. So this will probably be passed on.
  • Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Door Red ($25) - so I've said it before and I don't wear a ton of lipstick but this is gorgeous and I may just really need to start wearing lipstick when I do a full face of makeup. I normally pass these on but I'm thinking of keeping this one.
  • Pandora's Makeup Box Pink Carnation Box Blush (~$11.50) - I'm a blush girl and I wear it every day however I like a more pinkish blush and this is a little peachy for me.  I may try it and see if it works as a little bit of a highlighter on me.  Another note is this is in a metal base so awhile ago  Ipsy sent little magnetic holders for these and if they keep sending them I'm going to need another holder.  I love that thing.
So pretty much I love this month. No not everything is really me but I do think it is a great bag of goodies and all are usable items.  For the $10 I spent I got over $70 in products!!  That is just AWESOME.

Did any of you get an  Ipsy  bag this month?  What was your favorite item? I'm always excited to see what other items people get since we don't all get the same thing. :)

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday again and as usual I'm linking up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • I'm a little beyond excited to order a new Erin Condren Life Planner.  I had one last year and I loved it and I've been trying this year to use the digital calendar on my phone which is great for household stuff and things I need to share with M but it just wasn't doing it for me with my work things.  I want to be able to see people's important dates for the week at one look and not have to click around. So I ordered a new planner.  I can't wait for it to get here and get it filled in. :)

  • Speaking of work. Walt Disney World recently released the dates for their Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Party and their Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.  Some of these dates will sell out so if you are thinking of going let me know and I can help plan your trip.  As always you can see this and more info on my Facebook page Jenny at Love the Mouse Travel.

  • I am so thankful for great neighbors. My boys would be so lost if they didn't have them to play with.  This is an old picture off of Timehop (yes I'm still loving this app) but it is still relevant for today we just have a bigger swingset now. :)  I'm hoping the kids will stay friends for years to come even as they keep getting older.

  • And as a completely random picture today. At preschool on Monday they did Jack and the Beanstalk and C brought home  a little cup with a bean in it.  Now I have no idea when they actually planted this but uhm this picture was Tuesday and it was even bigger yesterday. I'm not sure what they gave this little bean but at this rate it will be a beanstalk soon.  C is beyond thrilled and if it stops raining today we are going to transplant it out of its little cup into a real pot.
So that is my thoughts this morning. What all are you guys thinking of?

Have a magical hopefully non-rainy day,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Back for Tuesday and to talk some TV.

I will be the first to say I don't always watch Dancing With The Stars but for some reason this year I've watched almost every week.  I know that is so weird for me and really there isn't anyone on there that I just have to watch but I still have been enjoying it.  Last night was Disney and it was phenomenal.  I love the more theatrical dances so Disney night really works for me.  Mark and Willow for Alice in Wonderland was amazing and watching Riker do a Jack Sparrow impersonation was so great. His dance was so strong last night.  I really don't care who wins this yer yet and I'm glad with the people going home. I think the next couple of weeks could be interesting as we are at the stage where someone surprising usually gets sent home so I'm curious to see who it will be.

M and I have been watching CSI:Cyber.  I'm not sure they have the right balance yet but since it really just started they are working it out. I do like the show and it doesn't sure to watch James Van der Beek every week.  I'm not fond of the intro since she basically talks through the whole thing but maybe as the show progresses since the stories seem pretty strong they will change and/or modify it as people know what the show is about.

I did take some time last week and catch up on The Flash and Arrow.  WOW they are both so good and I can't wait for the upcoming cross over episodes.  There was so much info dumped on us in the last Flash that as it starts to come out for everyone I think it will be a big changer.  The time travel stuff still has me a little lost but I think that happens when they start messing with the time line.  Arrow has so much going on as well and I am not happy that Roy turned himself in. I know why he did it and it makes for a good story but he is so lost and just needs to have someone really take him in. He is part of team Arrow but that doesn't make him really a member of the family like the others are. He always seems a little on the outside looking in. I'm betting that will change after this though.

So shows are just coming back from hiatus and will be going into their last stretch. I can't wait for the finales and to see which shows will be picked up for next season. There are some interesting rumors about cancellations and/or possible farewell 13 episode seasons.  I have a feeling next year will be that last year for a lot of my shows which is sad but also exciting for what new will be on the horizon.

Happy Viewing,
Jenny

Monday Musings

It's been a busy morning so just now getting a chance to finish this up.  How was everyone's weekend?  We had a fun time and spent so much of it outside. The boys were in heaven.

Saturday we headed out to the NC State Spring Game. The boys loved checking everything out and watching the team play. It was so warm out that we didn't stay for the whole thing but we had a blast for what we saw.

Can you see what is missing?  Yesterday was very eventful.  N was outside playing with the neighbors and they were playing chase.  One of the girls went to tackle him and her finger went in his mouth.  Then about 10 min later he said he realized he was missing some teeth. LOL  At least that is the story that I got. His teeth were loose so its not surprising and they didn't bleed or anything so they were ready.  We did do a little looking around but trying to find such small teeth in a grassy backyard just wasn't happening so he wrote the tooth fairy a nice note that I'm sure she will keep for years to come ;)

We don't have many plans again this week. N and I had the dentist this morning and other then that we are just going to hang out.  He has to go back to school next week so he is enjoying sleeping in and being lazy.  He'll be back for the big push to the end of the school year once he goes back. It will be a long 9 weeks.

Oh I did get to read and finish the second book in the Maker series by Kresley Cole.  It was even hotter then the first one and now I have to wait and wait until the third book comes out. Now I get to start on the new JR Ward book The Shadows but I need to have some time to really read it. I tend to get lost in her books and then I'm no good to anyone. LOL  Do you ever get that way when reading a book?

So that's about my update for the day.  I hope you all have a good week and I'll be back on to do some chatting as we go.

Friday Favorites

Taking some time today to share some FAVORITES.

So I picked up this book to read since I love Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and uhm lets just say this one is more adult ;)  I still thought it was really good and I have already ordered the second in the series but I guess I wasn't expecting it to be what it really was.  LOL I know I had read that The Game Maker Series was going to be more adult but with The Professional I finally saw that. Have any of you read these yet?  I've already passed this one onto a friend to take on vacation with her next week. She is in for a treat.

Very random but my sister is a Plant Biology major and she has a class where she had to grow something edible from seeds. Well her apartment doesn't have good sunlight so she brought them to my house.  She has little containers that you can kindof see off to the side but then she has this pot that she just dumped some of the leftover seeds in.  As you can see we have lettuce and spinach growing and I get a little to excited checking on in everyday. LOL #itsthelittlethings

My little men.  Since N is now a bicycling genius it is all he wants to do. Yesterday while we were outside they wanted to take a picture of all of us.

Pretty sure I've said this before but I love the Timehop app.  This was from yesterday and the start of my girls cruise.  I love my girlies and can't wait until we can make another trip happen.

So that is it for today. What are you guys loving this week?
Have a great weekend,
Jenny

Thursday Thoughts

Oh WOW how did it get to be Thursday already but as usual I'm linking up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • The weather has been AWESOME here lately and except for some upcoming rain it looks like it will be sticking around for awhile.

  • With this weather we've been spending a ton of time outside.  Last night M took the boys out to ride and who knew but N can ride without the training wheels. He hadn't let us take them off before without flipping out but yesterday he wanted them off and then away he went.

  • We have this Japanese Maple tree in our backyard that we got free from my dad. He got it as a gift with purchase so it was only like a foot tall when we got it.  We planted it right after C was born so here it is 4 years later and it is now taller then my boys. They love watching it grow.

  • No other real plans for the rest of the week. We are just hanging at home today and tomorrow and really this weekend too. Should be nice and I'm sure something will come up but we'll be good either way.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!!!
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

How is everyone doing on this Tuesday?  N is still tracked out so we are having all kinds of at home fun :) but I still have plenty of time to talk some TV.

Last week I got a chance to watch the first 3 episodes of iZombie. I wasn't sure what to expect from it but the premise had me interested and I'm happy to say that I like it.  I like that they don't deal too heavily on the weird zombie part and there is plenty of other crime fighting that takes place too.  I would be lax to say that I love David Anders and had no idea he was on this show so that was a happy surprise.  At first I thought they were going to make him soft but nope he is the underlying bad guy that we all know and love.  He is AWESOME!!!  I also like that they have her still have a bit of a regular life with a roommate and an ex-fiance however I haven't really figured out if they can keep up with the work/zombie stuff and the old life stuff.  I can see how the roommate would fit in with her being a lawyer but the ex as appealing as he is (I love Robert Buckley form when he was on One Tree Hill and again a pleasant surprise) he is going to need to be a little more involved in the storylines for me to be invested.

It's been a couple weeks but I'm back talking about my fave show Supernatural.  Oh what can we say about last weeks episode. It was good and then sad. I loved seeing Bobby and I like the way they worked him in but then it was sad to see him too. You realize what is missing when someone is on for just one episode. He did great and I'm glad he stayed up in Heaven even though he is in trouble. For a second I thought he might show up with Castiel back on Earth and that jut wouldn't be right.  I also loved this episode with all the Dean and Crowley together and how Crowley kicked his mom to the curb. I've said it before and I'll say it again in a weird way Crowley and the boys are family and they both know it and that is why they "work" well together.  Next weeks episode sees the return of Charlie which is also fun and we are gearing up to the big season finale. I'm so glad that the show has another season since I can see a big cliffhanger and wtf moment coming at the end of this season.

Another new show that started last week was Younger.  This show is AWESOME and so much fun so far.  I can't even imagine pretending to be 26 again. Holy WOW that would be a nightmare but it is really fun to watch. Of course since my boys are only 4 and 7 I can't imagine being my age and having a kid in highschool either. I kindof fit in the middle of Liza's world but that is ok.  In the first two episode I did get most of the references they made (I think ;)) but is #toplesstuesday really a thing? I mean I'm not on twitter much (see showing my age LOL) but that just sounds crazy. Oh and when the show was talking about bush about 10min in I knew this was a show for the ladies. Haha I'm not sure many guys will like it but it makes great text message convos with my girls.

Obviusly I spent a couple nights catching up on new shows since this is a new one.  I love the Lip Sync Battles on Jimmy Fallon so I'm guessing this is an offshoot of that. So far I've loved the couple that I've seen.  Seeing Duane Johnson syncing Taylor Swift and then seeing John Legend syncing to Juvenile. I mean when do you ever get to see that.  Oh and just incase you wondered this show is not kid friendly. LOL you may think so but nope these are adults performing and it shows.  I can't wait to see who else competes. The promos look great and the guests are really getting into it plus who doesn't like to watch LL Cool J on your TV?

Have a great TV week everyone!!!
Jenny
