TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Time for some TV talk this week.  I started adding a link up to this post last week so feel free to join in and share your tv talking fun. I'm up for all talk and I'm a spoiler junkie so I can probably talk your show even if I don't watch it. LOL

Let's start this week with one of summers guiltiest pleasures and talk some Big Brother.  It is way to early for me to pick any favorites but I think they have a couple of characters in the house this season.  I wasn't overly fond of the way they had them enter the house this year with the multiple days and stuff and really does anyone like Battle of the Block? They said it was a viewers favorite but really it seems like just too much work. I mean I like the idea of more comps but I'm not sure that is the best way to do it. Everything just seems so rushed.  I am intrigued with the idea of change ups each week. I mean I know that they can do whatever they want whenever they want but now we are all going to be expecting some changes in the game. Once they start tossing some people out I'll start to get a feel for who I like. Do you guys have any favorites yet?

Summer also means the start of Food Network Star.  I always like this one since I feel like I can make a lot of the dishes that the contestants make. Now could I make them no way but I like to think that I could. LOL I also like to critique their presentations and wonder what in the world they were thinking sometime.  As with Big Brother I'm not sure if I have a favorite yet.  Give me a week or so and I'm sure to have one that I love. Do you watch? Do you have a favorite yet?

Does anyone else watch American Ninja Warrior? This is really more of an M show but since its on while I'm working on this post it made me think of it.  These people are truly beasts and I must say they have to be a little crazy. I mean I understand fitness but wow I'm not sure why you would want to even try to do some of these stunts.  In that regard I would also love to see the people who come up with the obstacles and how that all come together. It seems like they go what torturous things can we try and make these people do.

Special Mention this week to the new Scream tv show. Is anyone going to check this out? I'm setting the Tivo and I'll probably try it but I just don't know.  The movies are such classics and yes I know that they were a long time ago but you know I am old so they don't feel that old to me. LOL  I'm curious to see how they translate that awesomness to a tv show.

Have a great week and enjoy your TV time!!!

The weekend is over and now I'm back linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post again.

Currently.....

Obsessed--- with bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes. They are AWESOME and I really could eat one everyday. Luckily this weekend I went to a friends house for some scrapbooking and we went to dinner right next to the store so we HAD to get some dessert ;)

Loving--- the weather.  Besides the rain it was a great weekend and we went to the pool yesterday. Since M was home and he went the three boys played in the pool and I got to do my favorite thing and sit in the shade on the side and watch.  Perfect

Enjoying--- watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on abcfamily everyday.  They were doing fan favorites last week and this week they start from the beginning. I am a huge BtVS fan and loved the series when it was on and even know when I can catch a rerun. They showed one of the best episodes Friday in Once More With Feeling. I mean what could be better then Buffy and singing?

Grateful--- that I have found a job that I love and that I get to help people everyday. In Timehop this week I saw that it has been 3 years since I've started working with Love the Mouse Travel. I truly LOVE helping people plan their Disney vacations and getting to see the excited expressions on their faces when they get home.  If you would like me to help with your trip you can check out my facebook page Jenny @ Love the Mouse Travel.  I'd love to help you with any of your Disney needs.

That's it for today. C and I are heading to the park to enjoy the 80°F day.  Have a great week everyone!!!

Thursday Thoughts

It is Thursday and as I normally do I'm linking up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • I got woken up  by my cat this morning. It was storming outside so I thought that was it but nope she was upset that N had already gotten up and went downstairs.  LOL she is such a little mother hen and N is 7 so he is very capable of getting up himself and going downstairs. Silly cat.
  • Speaking of N he had his end of school performance yesterday and awards. They did readers theater skits for the class and parents and he did a great job. He then got the award for All Star Athlete. It is a great award for him.

  • I think C and I might try and head to the pool this morning. I think the storm is over but I need to check the radar first.  We (well I) haven't been all week. M took the boys Tuesday night when I went to the movies with some friends. :)
  • Let's see what are we working on this weekend.  Hmmm I think I'm going scrapbooking at a friends on Saturday or awhile and M is working so his mom is going to head over with the boys. I also need to work on end of year gifts since next week is Ns last day.  M is taking off after N gets of next week to so I need to decide what all we are going to do while he is out.  He starts 2nd grade on the 7th so we only have a week break this time.  Eeek how in the world do I have a 2nd grader.
So that is about it for this morning. I'm not sure my brain is fully working yet this morning I don't think. #Ineedsomecaffeine

Happy Thursday,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

So this week I am going to concentrate on a couple summer guilty pleasures that have just started. :)  I'm also going to post a link up so if you would like to talk some TV link up and let's share our TV love with each other.

First up is newbie Astronaut Wives Club.  There has only been one episode so far and while I liked it I don't think I actually get the show yet. The cast is so large I hope that as we go on they narrow it down a bit so we can really get invested in a couple of them. I do like the time period and the outfits and style of the show so with all that and it taking place around the aerospace stuff I'll tune in for a little fun each week.

The first show leads into Mistresses which started its second season in just as much soapy glory as the first season had. I was a little concerned with how they were going to write Alyssa Milano out and I think they have done ok so far. She basically ran away which makes perfect sense considering what she saw.  I'm glad they didn't just ignore her exit or kill her off or anything.  Now lets talk about the new lady.  I'm thinking she'll be a friend in the end but she is having an interesting introduction.  I can't wait until she meets the other girls and see how they all seem to act together.

This might be the biggest guilty pleasure I watched last week.  Unreal is on Lifetime and is about the behind the scenes working of a reality show ala the Bachelor.  It is just totally crazy and now I really want to know if the real shows are this way. I mean I know they are all "scripted" for good ratings but wow there is so much more here then I could have even thought about.  I am curious how this one will work if it gets picked up for another season.  The show is going through the contestants pretty fast so I'm guessing we will end with the finale of that one which would mean we need a new suitor for next season maybe? of course I'm still thinking that the current suitor Adam kindof has a thing for our main girl Rachel.  I'm sure that will play into all this sometime soon.  If you are looking for something just crazy fun then check this one out.

So those are my latest guilty pleasures.  Of course the biggest summer guilty pleasure time suck starts on Wednesday and you know I will be watching.  It is Big Brother time and as usual I will be ready to expect the unexpected ;)

Have a great week and join the link up below!!!

Crazy busy weekend and now I'm back linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post again.

Currently.....

Wondering--- How to make pancakes. LOL I make Mickey waffles all the time for the boys but this morning N wanted a pancake so I read the back of the box and followed the instructions but the mix was too thick I think.  He ate them and said they tasted fine they just didn't cook like I was expecting.

Loving--- All the father's in my life but especially M. He is a great dad to our boys and we all love him so much. This weekend we didn't have a ton of plans but we still were very busy and he had to work so that didn't help with the busy too much.  At the pool on Sat C said his feet were hot when he sat in the chair so M sat in front of him so C could prop his feet on him.  Then like any good mom and scrapbooker I took a picture of it ;)

Enjoying--- New Organization.  While at Target the other week they had some of the drawer organization on clearance and of course I grabbed one. The boys and I finally put it to use and organized some of their art supplies. They now have their Raskog full and the new cart.

Excited--- The new 2016 Walt Disney World Vacation packages came out today and I'm happily planning trips for people.  If you are interested in going this year or next check out my facebook page Jenny @ Love the Mouse Travel and send me a message to start your planning.

So that is what's up right now. How was your weekend? Any big plans for the week?

Thursday Thoughts

It is Thursday and while a little later then normal I'm back to link up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • Oh my did C and I have an "eventful" morning. LOL so we had plans to go to the pool this morning and on the way there he rubbed his eye and got sunscreen in it.  Then when we got out of the car he had tears and that rubbed more sunscreen in there and of course a full meltdown happened.  In all of that I set the pool bag back in the car and shut the door. I bet you can guess what happened then? I locked the keys in the car with my phone and everything.  So I went into the clubhouse to call M and C and I ended up walking back home and waiting for him.  Once he got there and we got my car C didn't want to go to the pool anymore and I can't really blame him. It was kindof traumatic.  We are going to try and go back tomorrow.
  • I'm kindof over all this hot weather we are having. LOL but the other night we had a nice breeze and when the sun wasn't on you it was pleasant.  Both boys went out and swung on the swingset for a long time. They were having so much fun out there.

  • M has been really busy this week so the boys and I have been fending for ourselves for dinner but he was here on Monday and we did steaks on the grill.  With that I decided it was time to use my new spiralizer.  I couldn't wait to try it out and I will say it was oh so yummy.  I just did some zucchini and sauteed it with peppers and carrots. So great and I can't wait to make another meal.
  • Let's see what else is on the plan this week? Nothing much really. N has school tomorrow so C and I might try the pool again. Then I have craft club at our clubhouse Friday night and Saturday night we are going to a cookout at a friends house for her birthday. The boys want to stay home for Father's Day so I'm thinking we will pool and then grill out again. Nothing too much but just a nice relaxing day.
I hope everyone is staying cool in the crazy weather this week.
Have a great weekend,
Jenny

School Day Fun Scrapbook Page

I'm back again and sharing another page.  N came home from school with paint all over him one day and I said let me take your picture and this is the pose I got. LOL I just kindof love the picture so I wanted to make sure I scrapped it. I did this one the same weekend I was trying to use Project Life cards on full 12x12 layouts so I started with those and went from there.

One of my favorite things about the Stampin' Up Project Life cards are that the colors match out Stampin' Up colors and I can coordinate with other papers, inks ribbons etc. It makes scrapping with them fun and quick.

Happy Scrapping,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

So yes I know it's Wednesday but I just never got to this yesterday so I figured better late then never. :)

Yes I know this one ended months ago but M and I just watched the last 7 episodes.  White Collar is one that we have watched from the beginning but since it comes on USA at such random times we have always binged it once we've had a bunch of them so no reason to not do that with the last of the series.  I was pretty happy with the way it ended. You all know that I love a good recap and/or a flash forward for a show when we know its ending but since White Collar isn't that kindof show I think them show how Neal is off on a new journey is pretty good. I'm also glad that they let Peter in on the fact that Neal wasn't actually dead but the question remains does Mozie know? He had the card that Peter found in the storage unit but I'm still not sure. I just don't know how long he would really have stayed around if he knew Neal was somewhere else. I guess if he knew it was all part of a con he would stay away  but then you never know if Neal thinks he is trying to protect him.  Overall a great ending to a really fun series.

So yes I know this is a really old show but come on who doesn't love Buffy The Vampire Slayer?  It is one of the best shows that has been on and it is going to be on ABCfamily starting next week. They are doing a week of fan favorites before starting from the beginning and you know even though I own the whole series on DVD I may need to watch it on tv. :) And incase you hadn't seen ABCfamily is also going to be showing Dawsons Creek too. While I watched it to start I didn't finish out the series for some reason so I may record and try to catch it too.

Now onto one of my summer guilty pleasures and So You Think You Can Dance. I don't really pay a ton of attention to the audition rounds but I did this year so I could check out the judges table. I think they are doing a good job so far and they do mesh well together ;)  We will see if they get annoying as some of the others have as the season progresses.  I'm also not sold on this new format and I want to see how it plays out in the actual competition, While I'm very happy to have extra time to watch Twitch and Travis part of what makes this so fun is that the contestants are thrown into dances they don't really know and if they are only doing things in their wheel house will it really be as fun? I haven't actually looked to see if they are keeping the format the whole time or only until they get to a certain stage so I'll have to tune in and watch.

So what summer shows are you looking forward to?

Happy viewing,
Jenny

Ipsy June 2015 Swim Into Beauty Bag

disclaimer: This post contains a referral link for Ipsy and if you joining through me I will get credits for future goodies.

For some reason I don't get shipping emails from Ipsy anymore so I was excited to see the hot pink envelope in my mailbox today. I of course peaked and knew what was coming but it is always excited to actually get it and see how it looks in person.  This months theme was Swim into Beauty and since I've been at the pool everyday it couldn't have come at a better time.

In case you need a reminder  Ipsy  is a monthly beauty subscription that gets you 5 items in a cute little bag each month for only $10!!!! (plus tax in certain states).  This is the only makeup type bag I'm getting right now and I still love it. While not every month is a me month overall I'm usually pretty happy.

And now onto this months goodies. I will say I was not overly excite upon first look. It looked ok but nothing that jumped at me. I still had to take a good look at what I was getting.

  • Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave In Conditioner ($6) - This actually couldn't have come at a better time. With being at the pool so much my normally normal hair has been feeling very dry and I plan to start using this right away.
  • Dr. Brandt Skincare pores no more vacuum cleaner ($11.25) - This says that it helps loosen and extract blackheads without extraction tools. I will say I've never really had an issue with blackheads and I couldn't tell you what an extraction tool was so I'm not thinking I will ever use this item.  I do like the Dr Brandt brand so if I needed this I would probably be happier.
  • Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($9) - this helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and set a nice canvas for your makeup.  I have actually gotten this before and I've always liked it when I've used it. I'm sure to use this sample too.
  • tre'StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon is Aspen Pine ($10,67) - I love eyeshadow crayons. They just are always so much fun.  I'm loving this color since I don't have a lot of darker greens but it really isn't a summer color to me so I'll probably wait and wear this more in the fall.
  • Absolute New Your Nail Lacquer in Turquoise ($4.99) - You all know me and know I love a good nail polish. I've never tried this brand before but I'm loving the bright color. This color screams summer to me. I think this might be the next color I put on my toes.

So this is just an ok box for me this month. I do like the products and will use most of them but nothing is really that jump out and make me yell from the mountains type product.  I do love the samples and getting to play around with them and for the $10 I spent I got over $40 in products!! So that makes me very happy.

Did any of you get an  Ipsy  bag this month?  What was your favorite item? I'm always excited to see what other items people get since we don't all get the same thing. :)

Jenny

I'm not sure how but it is already Monday and I'm back linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post again.

Currently.....

Dreading--- This weather.  I know I was just raving on the great temperatures we've been having but we are going to make up for it this week. :(  We haven't hit 100°F in three years but that will be going away this week.  Ugh C and I ran a quick errand this morning and now we are hibernating in the house.

Amused--- So if you read my blog you know that we are NCState Wolfpack fans and N is currently obsessed with sports so his goto pose now is making WOLF signs with his hands every time I take a picture. LOL  It really is ok but I think its going to be funny we when go back through the scrapbook in years to come and see them in every picture he is in.

Enjoying--- exploring.  Last week before it got so incredible hot our playgroup went to a local park that has a bridge with lots of turtles under it. The kids had a great time playing and exploring and watching the turtles swim around.

Planning--- inside activities. Since it is going to be so hot outside C and I will be doing lots of inside activities.  So far this morning we've cleaned up a bit and played store.  Now I'm taking a minute to finish up this post and do a little Disney work while he is crafting in the kitchen.  He really is great and we will have a blast and just hope that it cools down a bit this week so we can head back to the pool.

I'd like to thank Becky for this linkup each week. I'm really having fun and its a great way to share whats been going on in my life and take time to look at some of the little things that I might miss in another format.

Have a great week everyone and if you are in this heat wave try and stay cool.

So Cool Scrapbook page

I just love this page. It really doesn't have a ton of products on it and it was simply and quick to out together but when I see C in his shades and the smile on his face he just looks like he is having so much fun.  Again I used a project life card that I had and then added some retired Stampin' Up designer Series papers. This is some paper I've been holding on to since I love the type font on it but I realized I was never going to make a page where you saw all of the paper so in my attempt to stop hoarding papers for that perfect page I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did.

I also got to do one of my favorite little scrapbook tricks with the buttons.  I have this thing against naked buttons LOL yes I do not like having the holes in the buttons to have nothing in them.  Sometimes like in this case with the amount of buttons I'm using putting ribbon in them all would make them a little bulky so I snipped some of the leftover designer paper and fed it through the holes.  It really pulls the buttons into the page.

Do you hoard papers for that perfect page? Do you use it and then love what you created?

Happy Scrapping,
Jenny

Thursday Thoughts

I'm back for another Thursday and a check-in and link up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • So I guess this is kindof the first real week of summer for most people but with N being in year round school he has a couple more weeks and C being in preschool was out a couple weeks ago. I am however already done with summer ;)  The weather here has been mild but I see the upper 90s and high humidity days coming and then all I will want to do is hibernate in my AC.  For now C and I spend our days at the pool.

  • So I didn't really know this existed but I thought it would be a great idea and then they went and built one near my house :)  So you know I've told you that we are getting a great new shopping center right near me with tons of stuff and they announced a Panera Bread was coming.  So upon looking at the building layout we realized it was a standalone outbuilding so we were holding out hope for a drive thru and what do you know it has a drive thru.  It just opened the other day and C and I had to try it out today. I will say it is just as wonderful as I was hoping and I could see this being very dangerous for me.  Is there any other restaurant you would love to have a drive thru?

  • N is a very silly boy. He is a hoot and a half most of the time ;) and comes up with silly things.  I'm pretty sure I shared that we got a new hammock for the backyard and he loves it.  His newest favorite thing is to wrap in it and try to flip upside down. I have no idea where this came from but he and the other kids think it is hysterical.

Since we are heading out this morning this is it for now.  Have a great rest of the week everyone!!!
Jenny
