Monday Morning Musings

I can't believe it is Monday again already. Wow where did the weekend go?  We had another good weekend. I was able to go scrapping with my friends on Saturday for the whole day. I got alot of great pages done so be on the look out for some posts this week with those. I even used one of  my My Paper Pumpkin kits. :)  The boys stayed home with M and then with their Nana and just played played played.

My morning have become lunch makers. If anyone has ideas for a slightly picky eater for lunch please send them my way. He seems happy with his meals but I'm bored with doing the same thing. LOL I did order some new Star Wars containers from Pottery Barn Kids so when they get here maybe we'll get a little change since we will have more choices. This is what his lunch and snack have looked like for the last week. We also toss in a frozen gogurt and then his drink.  Not very exciting but he doesn't eat peanut butter or any lunch meat so a cheese sandwich it is.

I had a major influx of boxes on Friday and I got them all blogged that day so look back through if you missed those.  I should be getting Ipsy, Julep (I ordered a mystery box), and possible Citrus Lane this week.
Its a short home week for me since C and I will be heading down the Charlotte for the weekend. The Creating Keepsakes Convention (CKC) is this weekend and I need to do some scrapbooking shopping. ;) I'm sure I NEEEEEEEED so many new papers and embellishments, and and and oh I get excited just thinking about it. LOL

So what are you guys up to this week? Anything fun and exciting?

Friday Phone Dump

Friday again and time for the Friday phone dump  with Jenn over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

I think C is having the hardest time with N being at school.  No matter how big our house is he is right with me all the time sometimes that means reading a book while I'm working on the laptop and sometimes that means being very upset and crying all over me. LOL  He has started taking after his brother and has started spending most of his days naked.  I caught him watching a cartoon the other day and thought it was so cute with his little hands.  C is taking after his more organized father and it shows with his diapers. We have to sort them into characters and then out them in the  holder. We then have a discussion with each change as to which sesame street character we are going to wear. His least favorite is Elmo and of course that is who they put the most of in the bags.

Here is my random photos of the week picture.  I'm in a couple swap events in a FB group I'm in and I got some great ones this week.  The first was a M.O.M event every item had to start with M.O. or M.  I am most excited about the Mason Jar tumbler.  Since its Friday I may just have to fill it up later ;)  We also did a gum train. Did you know that they have Root Beer Float gum?  Who knew but I'm excited to try it.  C and I also took some time this week to work on the pantry.  I seriously like just opening it now and looking at how organized it is. I'm in heaven.

The rest of our week:  Me and C snuggling, N at his first full day Monday ready for this class.  He had to wear his Tiny Whales shirt from his Sweet Pea Box.  Last night we had an invite to a training night at the new PDQ restaurant they are opening. My boys love playing cornhole and the chicken tenders were really good too.

So that was my week in pics. Very random but very fun. How was your week?

Sweet Pea August Box 2013

My Sweet Pea Box came today. If you don't know Sweet Pea Box is a  kids clothing delivery service. They have choices ranging from $30-$50 a month depending on how many items you want to get. I chose the 4 item box for $30 this month.  They are current running a special where if you join and let them know I sent you then I will get an extra item in a future box.  That would make me very happy. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sweet Pea Box ships is a poly mailer from not to far from me so I get it pretty fast which also makes me happy.  Here is my box this month

No you are not seeing double I have matching shirts in my box. I split my box between my two boys so I get a 2T outfit and a 4T outfit. When you sign up you answer some questions and then they have a notes section that you can add more info. I'm pretty sure my notes are pretty open but I know I've sent a couple comments in later to get added like we didn't need anymore swimsuits and I also sent a message about my fall sizes. When we start getting into fall wear I will need a different size in pants for N.  Of course here in NC I don't need fall yet so I'm happy with my shorts and t-shirts.

Both of the shirts are by Tiny Whales and they are quickly becoming my go to T-shirt company. We love love love them and they wash and wear so great.  The left shorts are gymboree and I am obsessed with them. I will admit they were the first thing I dug into when I opened the bag. I love some plaid shorts on my boys and this matches the shirt so great.  The shorts on the right are from Crazy 8 and a knot short. I'm not a huge lover of knit shorts but N loves them so I don't mind them in my box since he gets something he likes and I don't have to buy them when I'm out ;)

So what do you think?  I really love this subscription and they do such a good job getting me boy things that we are wearing and wearing.  Are you already getting Sweet Pea Box  what was in your box this month?

Jenny

disclaimer: That isn't a specific affiliate link up there but if you decide to join and give them my name I will get an extra item in a future box. :)

Birchbox Aug Box Review

I have not been keeping up with my Birchbox  sub lately so I had no clue it was coming today. Can you tell I had a great mail day today. I got so many packages and I couldn't wait to dig in. With being busy lately I hadn't even watched the spoiler boards so I had no idea what was in each box.

First look and I love these little boxes. I have a stockpile in my garage and I reach for them all the time to reuse so if you get anything from me look for a recycled box ;)

I'll admit there is one item I would never buy myself in this box. I actually didn't even know it existed. LOL You will see below:)
  • ModelCo Party Prook Lipstick in Red Velvet - This is a deep red just like you would expect with the name. I love it though and I don't wear a ton of lipstick I'm more a gloss girl but I'm keeping this one for the nights I do get fancy.
  • Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Cream - I'm getting a collection of these BB creams and I've only tried a couple of them. With my new organization system I can find them more easily and I hope to work through my stash. This one will go into that pile.
  • Yes To Cucumber towelettes - I love this brand and these towelettes. This is just a sample but will be great for a night away. I'm adding this to my togo bag.
  • Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect - I think I've gotten this before in a box but I've not used it yet. I'm really  bad about not doing anything to protect my hair from the suns rays. I'm going to work on using this the next day we are going to be outside for the day like at a football game or something.
  • Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes - so here is the item I don't think I would ever buy and I had no idea that it existed. I will say I don't have the stinky feet syndrome after a long day but C so does LOL to be so little he has the worst feet funk after being in shoes all day so maybe we will be buying something like this for him. Where I'm thinking this will be helpful is after a long day in the theme parks after wearing my rainbows and the black nastiness that is the bottom of my feet. I wonder if these will help clean that off instead of me sitting on the side of the tub scrubbing. ;)  Oh yes that whole comment is way TMI sorry.
So that was my box this month. I actually do like it even though the feet wipes make me laugh.  If you are interested in getting a Birchbox its a subscription box that costs $10 a month and then you can review your items for points and use those points for full size items in the Birchbox store. :)  I love shopping in that store with my points and getting more goodies sent to my house.

August POPSugar MustHave Box

I've been waiting for my POPSugar MustHave box every since we got the sneak peak into this box but somehow I hadn't realized mine was coming today so I was very excited when the box was on my porch this afternoon.

The box was pretty full this month which always makes me happy.

All my goodies:
  • Must Have Home - Bentogo Bento Box  this box has two layers and keeps everything all held together.  I was very excited when I saw these in the boxes. C and I plan to take lots of fall outings and I just ordered him some containers of his own so now I will have one too.
  • Must Have Anniversary Gift - Gorjana Open Circle Necklace - This was in the sneak peek they sent out.  Being POPSugar MustHave one year anniversary they sent this out as a gift.  I love it and can't wait to wear it.
  • Must Have Beauty - Dermalogica Precleanse and Special Cleansing Gel - I've never used a pre-cleanse on my face since I assumed using a cleanser was good enough. Who knew but I'm up for the challenge.
  • Must Have Beauty - Lulah Body Wash in Citron Limon - I love me some bodywash. I know that people got some different scents of this one but I like the smell so I'll add it to my stash. If I don't get a chance to use it I'm sure my sister and her roommates at college will love to get a basket with this in it.
  • Must Have Home - Lunares Apple Bowl - This says its a decorative addition to any space. While I don't really have a place for it out in the house I do like it. I can see it in my jewelry drawer holding some of my baubles or I could hold onto it as a start to teacher gifts however I hate giving teachers apple gifts since I know they get so much of that stuff so I'm thinking jewelry drawer it is.
  • Must Have Home - May Designs Weekly Agenda Notebook - When I worked I carried a planner all the time. Now that I'm home with the boys I don't but I would love to get back into it. We keep an overall calendar on our phone so that both M and I can see it but I'd love someplace to jot my daily/weekly/monthly to dos.
  • Special Extra - Naturebox Granny Smith Apples - I haven't gotten a Naturebox in awhile but these look really good. I love granny smith apples and I'll dig into these this weekend for sure.
All in all I really like this box and it is enough to keep me getting a couple more boxes at least.  If you are interested the POPSugar MustHave is $35 a month and the value this month had to be way over that and if you use the code REFER5 you will get $5 off your first box. If you did get it what do you think?

Allure Fall Must Haves

Wowsers everyone my Allure Fall Must Haves box came today. I was so excited to know it had shipped and I was so hoping it wasn't delayed from today.

First look - This box was seriously heavy. I knew that the shipping said 10lbs but I wasn't really expecting it to be that heavy and big.  I was very excited. And yes that is more then an information card it is a whole book with all of the items listed with information on them.

Very impressed with the shipping. I knew that the products were a larger size but I guess I assumed they would just be tossed in a box. LOL nope they took it very serious and everything was nice and neat.

And here are all the goodies. Allure posts what you are getting but I was still so excited to get my hands on everything.  The box itself costs $39.99 plus shipping and tax so about $50 depending on where you live.  A lot yes but I knew right off I would use most of the products in there and then I'd have some to try out too which is always fun.  I do see a couple which I know I won't use so I will pass those along or see about trading for something else.

Over all I am over the moon with this box. I'm not sure exactly how often it is offered but I think maybe quarterly. I know they had one for summer that I missed out on. They sell out really fast so you have to be on the ready.

Did you get an Allure box this time? What did you think about it?

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up with Jenn over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts:

  • I'm still trying to figure out the BB house. The guests for the most part get along but do they really?  I'm wondering if some of them are just good at going with the flow more then others.  I'm really excited for the double elimination tonight. They are always fun and with all the sitting on the top tension it could get interesting.  I'm hoping that one of the going homes is Amanda since she is really annoying me and then if the other is Candice they will have a week in the Jury house together and that would be awesome. LOL
  • We are only in our first full week of school and WOW its as much work on the mom as it is on the kid. ;) Getting everyone up and ready with lunches and homework done its alot. Thank goodness for my great neighbor who is taking N with her for carpool. C has been sleeping through afternoon time so I was waking him up and now I don't have too.  Plus N loves riding with the girls :)
  • I'm going scrapping at Archivers with my girls this Saturday. We used to go around 4 and then it was 3 and 2 but now we are closer to noon. You don't think our once a month Saturdays we are all so ready to get out of our houses do you?  Love me some scrapping with the girls.
  • Ok back to school. I ordered some new containers from Pottery Barn Kids today. They have them onsale and free shipping. N is going to love the Star Wars ones but now I need to come up with some food ideas.  Anyone know anything good for a picky eater? So far he has had half a cheese sandwich, fruit snacks, fruit of some kind, and something crunchy like goldfish, vanilla wafers or pretzels.  Any other thoughts and ideas? He doesn't eat peanut butter or lunch meat.  I'm already lost.
  • I'm trying to remember what all N and I did when he was Cs age? Of course I was also oh so pregnant so I'm sure we didn't do much but C and I need some outlets.  I'm thinking we may have to explore the library and museums some once we get into the swing of things with Ns school.
So those are my random thoughts for the day. What are you thinking?
