Glamper Greetings Card

I'm developing a pattern of making cards when my house is full of boys playing. What can I say I work great in the chaos. I'm still inspired but this month's Paper Pumpkin kit that I shared over on my friends HelloSubscription Blog .  Using watercolor pencils and then an aqua painter for a quick background is so easy and quick and I'm obsessed with it.
First up was to grab my starters and decide what to do.

Since I had decided to use Glamper Greetings I wanted to do a ground and sky look so Old Olive and Pacific Point pencils were used.

After I scribbed I used my aqua painter to blend it all in. Since it is a camper kind of card I left it with some hard edges and deep color.

There are two steps to the camper with the outline and then the lines that go inside it. Since I wanted to get it lined up just right I used my Misti so I could line it up easily. The Misti is great for stamping and getting things just where you want them.

Once I got the camper just the way I wanted it. I just needed to decide on a sentiment and the "This is How I Roll" one in this set just makes me smile. I didn't want it to jump out too much so I just took a scrap of Whisper White paper and sponged it with Old Live so that it blended a bit and stamped on it.  I was then able to dig in my ribbon stash and add the great Dapper Denim 3/8" Rouched Ribbon. I love the look of this ribbon and have been using it on lots of projects this year.

I added a crumb cake base to the card so that it would open up and still have that touch of rustic feel.

I'm really loving this technique and how quick and easy it is but how cool it looks when done. There are so many ways you can take it and you can do so many different color schemes with the watercolor pencils. I'll admit when I first got them I thought I would mostly be coloring things in with them but really I haven't colored anything in yet.  I've been doing more large color backgrounds and they are all fantastic. I'm having so much fun.
What is your favorite thing to do with the watercolor pencils?
Happy Crafting,
Jenny
