Thursday Thoughts

Happy day before Thanksgiving everyone and a day to link up with Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. :)

  • Welcome to NC weather it was is the 80s the last two days and 60s today and then we may not make it to 50 on Saturday.  The weather is crazy at the change of seasons.  I just hope we keep the dry Halloween night tomorrow that they are calling for.
  • There is an article in out paper today about how scrunchies are making a comeback. LOL uhm can we all agree to just say NO to the scrunchie and while we are at it lets keep the banana clips in the 80s too ;)
  • Uhm the house is all decorated and the boys are ready but we have NO candy. I think that needs to be corrected today. Not sure how we have managed to miss out on the candy. I wonder if I can talk M into just buying fruit snacks for everyone. LOL The boys would love that but I think M might have more of an issue with it.
  • Is anyone watching True Tori? They have some real issues and while I'm not sure that being on TV is the way to deal with them but at least it doesn't feel like they are glossing over any of the issues. They are laying them all out there and while we aren't seeing all the discussions and what is going on 24/7 they are bringing up lots of things.
  • I still haven't packed for my scrapping retreat next week which means I will end up tossing way to much stuff in some totes this weekend and calling it good. I had such high hopes of being organized this time but with Halloween and a birthday party I just don't see that happening.
So how random was that today?  My brain is a little all over this morning. I'll need to settle down here soon to do some Disney work but that always focuses my brain. :)

Have a great Thursday and a Happy Halloween,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Who is ready for some TV Talk?  I'm here this week to talk on a couple shows and give an update on my chart and how its going.

If you haven't seen my fall TV chart you can check it out HERE.  There are still many shows that haven't started yet and some new ones I haven't watched yet but here are a couple I have watched and have comments on ;)

So I was just looking at my chart with CBS switching up their schedule this week without football on Thursday and realized I'm watching a couple shows that didn't make the chart and I haven't watched a show that did make the chart.

I've been watching NCIS: New Orleans and I really like it. I don't watch either of the other NCIS shows but this one I like.  I love New Orleans so that could be some of it but it is good to watch and the cast seems to work well together. I set a season pass for it so I can keep up.

I'll admit I was really excited for Shield last year and then I only got through about Christmas. For some reason after the holidays we stopped recording it and I didn't really miss it but I randomly caught the first episode this season and I'm hooked again.  I can't record it since my Tivo is busy when its on but I've been catching it on demand and that is working for now. I'm excited again to see where the show is going. I'm not sure if its that they have less now and its a little more gritty then all the flashy last season or what but its working for me.

Now to a show I was really really excited to watch when I first heard of it but I haven't watched it yet is Gotham.  Does anyone watch? Do you like it?  I'm still recording it but I'm just not into watching it yet but I'm hoping to block out a couple hours one night and try out some episodes and see how it goes.  I just haven't had the pull to that yet.

So who watched Sunday already?  If you didn't STOP reading now!!!  I mean it STOP!!!  So OMG that was a very interesting episode.  I had an idea about Bob and I'm kindof glad I was right but I really through Gareth would be a pest to our group for a while more.  That scene was very gory even for the walking dead. Now onto my confusion. I get why Abraham wants to get Eugene to DC but why did Glenn say he would go so fast. The group just got all together and he willingly left to go with the others.  It just seemed a little fast to me. I know they will all be together again but who knows how long until that is.  And lets talk about the teaser for next week. Who do you think was with Daryl in the woods?  I'm guessing not Carol since no way she would have hidden back while he went ahead and then if it was Beth why would she also hide.  It was a little weird.  I've read some thoughts on who it was but its all speculation so I'll hold back on saying but I'm curios.  Looks like next week is about Beth, Daryl and Carol so we will get some answers.

Supernatural I don't know how I feel about last weeks episode.  I think that Jensen was AWESOME as Dean last week and showing all the turmoil in his changing but I'm not sure I'm happy that he isn't a demon anymore so quickly in the season.  I really thought he would stay a demon a little longer and have that play out more. I liked demon Dean he looked like he was having so much fun and he will be missed.  I do love that Crowley is basically the one who stepped in to help. Mark Sheppard is the man and that is all you can say about him. I met him at the convention and he is such a great panelist and has been in so many shows he has so many stories.

Those are just a couple of my randoms for this week that really stuck out to me.  Have you seen anything that really jumped out to you?  Oh and the first official cancellation of the season was announced last week in Manhattan Love Story. I didn't watch it but I think the comedies this year were at a disadvantage since they all seemed very much the same to me and they all kindof started running together. :(  I'm sure we will have some more cancellations soon.  Oh and they did announce that Scorpion and NCIS: New Orleans got full season orders yesterday which makes me happy.  I'm pretty sure some other shows already did too which will at least let them see if they can get some footings.  Did you see the The Flash pilot was the most watched show in CW history?  That really is AWESOME and it is such a great show.  Did any of you watch Constantine?  I recorded it and plan to watch it this week if I get a chance.  Was it good?

So I was wrong I guess I had more randomness. LOL

Happy TV Day,
Jenny

Monday Musings

disclaimer: This post contains referral links.

I'm back for some musings. It was a busy morning here with being Monday and getting both boys to school and then I went to Ns school to help sort and count the BoxTops for Education. It is a great program that gets the school some money back.  Does your school use them? If not and you want to collect them let me know and I will work with collecting them from you for Ns school.:)

I really don't know where October has gone.  With N home on track out and then just going back it has been a blur and now this weekend is Halloween and next week I head out to my early girls scrapping trip!!! (Hi girls!!!)  I can not wait and need to start sorting and packing up for that.

Last week was so pretty here and C has his harvest party at preschool. We took a hayride around the farm across the street from his school. He loved it and keeps telling us all about it.

Then the next day he and I headed up to the clubhouse in my neighborhood and we played on the playground for about and hour and then he wanted to go into the playroom.  I was like sure so we went in and he spent almost 2 more hours playing barbies. LOL I'm pretty sure that is the whole reason he wanted to go to the clubhouse was so he could play with the dolls.

Of course once N got home they had to go outside and ride their scooters and when we came in C crashed on the couch helmet and all.

HaHa I'm glad the helmet is protecting him from the couch. ;)

This week looks just as crazy.  I counted boxtops this morning and N has run club so by the time he gets home it will be dinner time. Then tomorrow we have playgroup and Wednesday C is out of school but I have his teacher conference that morning.  Thursday should be slower but we will finish up being ready for Halloween and then it is Friday and Halloween in here. My nephew has his birthday party on Saturday so we will be up and early that morning too.  I'm kindof tired just writing it all out. LOL

But I do love fall and the great weather. While it will be in he 80s tomorrow they are calling for 50s and 60s this weekend. I'm ready and so very excited.

Now onto my Monday Disney update...As always you can get the most recent info on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/jennyatlovethemousetravel

Friday Fave Five Blog Hop

disclaimer: This post contains referral links.
It's been a busy week but I'm back today linking up with Jennifer for her Friday Fave Five with Mom's Got Mail. .

This week I'm doing a Fave Five Christmas Edition. :) I've been working on my Christmas list and while if you look back at my other Fave Fives most of the items could be on the list and probably are I'm going to share some that I don't think I've shared yet.

Alex & Ani Disney bracelets.  As you all know I love Disney and pretty much all things Disney and these are no exception. There are so many really cute ones available and I really NEED one.

Pact clothing - I got some Pact items in my Wantable boxes and they are so soft and comfy. The camis are also a bit longer and I love those.  I'd love to try some of the panties they offer but I'll take any of the camis, panties or socks.  Pretty much anything they sell I'm loving. They have some of the funnest patterns too.

IKEA Bekvam Spice Rack - I've seen some great things used with these and now I want some.  They look great spraypainted to match whatever design your room is in.  I want to start with a couple in my bathroom to hold my everyday bottles and then I might move into the boys room or my craft room.  So many uses for these.

Erin Condren Life Planner - I got a life planner last year and started strong but then it went by the wayside but I've been using it a lot again for my Disney work. It is a great way for me to keep up with peoples 60day fastpass mark, 45 day final mark and other important days.  I'm thinking of that this one with some Disney pictures in it would be perfect for next year.

Kresley Cole books - I've been very behind in my reading this year.  I have a pile of books here to go through but these are all released or about to  be released and I really want to read them.  Lately I've been getting books for special occasions and then I work my way through them until its time for the next gift giving occassion. If you like paranormal romance at all I highly recomend Kresley Cole. Her Immortals after dark series is fantastic.

So those are my Christmas list wants for today. Are you working on your list yet?  What goodies are on your Fave list for this season?  Don't forget to take a second and hop over to check out the blog hop and everyone else's Fave Fives this week.

My Paper Pumpkin July 2014 Kit

I'm back again and will be showing you the July 2014 My Paper Pumpkin kit.  This kit is really outside my comfort zone with all of the white as you will see below but I think it turned out pretty cute.

And while I thought I had taken before pictures of all of these kits I can't seem to find them now so you get the finished products. This My Paper Pumpkin kit was to make some cards and cute little treat boxes.  The cards design was for birthday cards but as you see below I changed them up a bit to give me some variety.

See what I mean about a lot of white?  I don't mind them so much once I got going but when you see them all together it looks like a lot to me.

Here are my leftover items this month.  I haven't used the boxes yet but they are pretty cute and I will make something it them.  The kit came with the Blackberry Bliss stamping spot which is my favorite new In Color this year so that made me super excited.  I love the really deep purple of it.

And again as with last month while the stamps aren't overly involved I do like them and they are good basic word stamps that can be used over and over.

So what do you think of the July kit?  While I will say it isn't my favorite it is very usable and I'm making a point to try and send more cards out so I like the variety I was able to  make with these.

If you are interested in checking My Paper Pumpkin out just click my LINKMy Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription box from Stampin' Up that will send you a project box each month with cards or another project that can be completed in about 30 minutes.  The cost of the box is $19.95. If you are not ready to sign up for a monthly box you can now purchase a set 1,3,6,9 or 12 month subscription. These will need to be placed through my Stampin' Up store http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryID=1444&dbwsdemoid=94340  this will give you the prepaid options.

Thursday Thoughts

I've missed a couple weeks but I'm on today to link up with Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. :)

  • N is back in school this week and I feel like C and I are getting so much done.  Last week with N home I think we did something everyday and didn't get much done but quality together time ;) so I'm glad to be back on schedule.
  • One of the last days with N home we went to the park to feed the ducks.  Both boys think that is AWESOME and really they could have stayed there for hours if we had more bread.

  • We now have a picture wall in our neighborhood. LOL its not official but everytime we take a walk my boys have decided we have to take a picture on the wall.  So be ready since I'm sure to have more of these to come this fall.

  • I'm doing pretty good keeping up with my tv shows this season. I'm really into some of them and I really want to watch them.  I post about most of those on Tuesday but I get happy just thinking about the good shows. I hope they keep going and being good.  I'm also glad that the full pick ups are coming in and I want to know what the first big show to be cancelled will be.
  • This could totally go with a what I love post but I'm in love with the weather right now. I love mid 60s to low 70s and I can comfortable wear jeans and not die when I go outside.  It is perfect out there right now.

  • Do you let your kids play with your phone?  I really don't mind when mine do so when we are out or in the car and they ask I usually just pass it back to them.  However that usually means I end up with about 50 pictures that look a whole lot like this. LOL  I'm not even sure how to get the little postage stamp on my pictures but they think its hysterical.

  • So I really need to get moving this morning. C and I have no plans but N has to go to school so I should get going to he can get up. LOL #slowmovingmorning and I can't blame sleep as I was in bed out before about 10:30.  Maybe I got way to much sleep.
  • I'm really enjoying sharing all my crafty projects with you this week. I need to work more crafting into my schedule and more sharing.  Don't forget to enter my giveaway while you are here for the My Paper Pumpkin kit !!!
Have a great Thursday everyone. Anyone have big plans for the weekend? We are going to finish Halloween prep and just hang out.  Should be a great one.

Night Snow scrapbooking page

Are you ready for today's page?

The picture really doesn't do this page justice. It really just pops when you look at it.  We had a snowfall one evening that started late and was not expected to last long the next day. We let N go out an stand as it was coming down at night and then the kids went sledding early in the morning. This was tons of fun but it made for some dark pictures.  I wanted to lighten then up with some bright papers so I grabbed from my new holiday mini collections and went to town.

Then I needed to add a little bling to the page so I used some Frosted finishes and All calm Snowflakes to add a little sparkle. When you see the All Calm Snowflakes it looks like it has to be threaded through a chain or something and dangle but I wanted it on a page so I just glue doted it down and added a bow to the fastener.  Very cute and I could use it where I wanted. :)

Do you love the colors on this page?  Don't forget to head over to enter my scrappy My Paper Pumpkin Giveaway!!! As before if you are interested in any of the products I used above or in getting any other of the great new Stampin' Up products I will post the itemized list below. My Paper Pumpkin August 2014 Kit

So I know I'm behind on my My Paper Pumpkin  posts but since this is my Stampin' Up share week I'm making a point to show some to you. :)  I actually have most of the kits done or mostly started so it is just getting on here to share and since I'm being so random I'm not posting them in order either. LOL so today you are getting the August 2014 kit.

I will say I was loving this one as soon as I opened the box. The colors are so bright and fun and I was loving it at first look.

Doesn't that just look fun?  I did not take a picture of all the products before I used them but I will show you some of my finished products.

So let me talk about the full size cards.  In the kit there were only 4 folded over cards that would have had the stripes on the front and back with a blank inside however they sent covers for 8 cards so you know how I fixed that?  I cut the card bases in half.  I haven't used these yet but I will just cut a card base from a solid cardstock and attach these to the front. Win win for everything I get to use all the cut die cut fronts and I get more cards out of the kit.

Here are some of the cute little cards that came in the kit. As with the big ones I cut the bases in half so I could get more cards.  I love to use this size cards to drop in a gift bag so I used a stamp that would work for many different occasions.

Speaking of stamps here are the ones that came with this kit.  I used the little dot for all the dots on the card fronts and then they had a great selection of sayings to choose from. I will also be keeping these sayings in my stash as they are a perfect size for small banners and will also work great in some Project Life pages since they are small and cheeky.

Oh but that isn't all. I still have all of this left. These are to make little envelopes for the cards or for a gift card to go in. Since I haven't used the cards yet I haven't made the envelopes but I love having all of these cute things to go along with my stash.

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I'm back again this week for some more chatting about tv shows.  As stated above I may give spoilers if you haven't watched so either skip this post or I post a picture of the show about he discussion so you can skip that section.  As I've said before this may or may not be the shows from this past week as I use my Tivo to its fullest so sometimes I'm behind but so far this season I'm still kindof close to on time. So far anyway ;)

If you haven't seen my fall TV chart you can check it out HERE.  There are still many shows that haven't started yet and some new ones I haven't watched yet but here are a couple I have watched and have comments on ;)

The Vampire Diaries - Can I say that I'm loving Bonnie and Damon together. They are the friends who love to hate each other and its fun to watch. I'm not sure who this Kai character is or why he seems to know what all is going on but he does add a little fun to the VD 90s version.  Now for the other characters. Way to go Caroline with the finally admitting that she has feelings for Stefan.  But then for him to walk out and leave WOW he is a jerk can we say that. Almost like he is his brother now but he does have jerky tendencies when he is full on vamp so it was bound to come out when he is vamp-lite too.  Now to figure out the Mystic Falls group stuff and hope that Enzo makes it out. He is fun to watch on the screen as a foe to the boys so he needs to survive.

The Walking Dead - ok who all watched? OMG wasn't it good?  It was not as fast paced as the first episode but there really was so much going on and so much we found out.  I did not read the comics so I don't have that to fall back on but I have a friend who gets all my questions :) So I wanted to know what the deal with Gabriel is and it looks like there is more to him. I don't see anyway he is still alive with the way he is acting. So he either has someone helping him or he really isn't that helpless. I guess we will see for that one.  Now to that ending. Can we just say ew and poor Bob :(  I was surprised as I was thinking he went outside to cry since he really had gotten bit by that underwater walker and he knew he was going to turn but then he got nabbed. So if he was bit somewhere and they cooked and ate the other leg will they turn too? or do they have to die first?  Since everyone has the disease in them already but they have to die how does it work if you were to say eat walker?  I don't know but I'm curious to see.  Now onto Carol and Daryl. Was she getting ready to run off on her own again? or was she just keeping her options open? But then Daryl saw the car and off they go. I know they will catch back up eventually but I'm excited to see what is going on with Beth.

Scorpion - I actually really like this show. I know it got some mixed reviews when it started but I think its really working out well. I know that the characters are supposed to be geniuses and they do some really smart things but they don't take it over the top with how socially inept they are. So I think that makes the show work better. If they were always so awkward with people it would make the show weird and hard to watch.  Now for last nights episode which M and I actually watched.  When the FBI agent Cabe came walking out of the ocean M immediately thought of a bond movie and I went to the actors Robert Patrick's role from Terminator 2 where he is the silver terminator and he comes walking out of the molten stuff.  No idea where that came from since I haven't seen that movie in forever but it is where my head went and I thought oh that is so great they had a little wink wink for the actor. Random I know.

So those are my random show babble for today. What shows do you want to talk about? I love spoilers so even if I haven't seen it yet I don't care just leave a comment and we can chat. :)

Happy watching!!!!
Jenny

Christmas Cookies Scrapbooking Page

Here is another one of the pages I made the other day.

I love the deep richness of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and since this was a day after Christmas it is a beautiful base color. I accented the bottom with some of the papers from the Under the Tree Designer Series Papers.  These pagers are so thick and  beautiful and I'm excited that they were in the new mini catalog.

As with yesterdays page I used the Gold Basic Metal Buttons and since no button holes can be naked I used some Gold Bakers Twine in the holes.

Then look up in the top left. I added a little metallic mini clothespin and some tassles. Guess where I got the tassles from? You got it I pulled the gold form my gold bakers twine and use it. So cute, easy and fun.

Are you enjoying the pages so far?  Be on the look out in a little bit for some more and don't forget to head over to enter my scrappy My Paper Pumpkin Giveaway!!! As before if you are interested in any of the products I used above or in getting any other of the great new Stampin' Up products I will post the itemized list below. Ipsy October 2014 - Beauty Candy

disclaimer: My referral link is included in this post so if you decide to join through my link I get points for future goodies.

My
Ipsy bag came the other day and since I had peaked I knew what was in it but I was still so very excited when it showed up.  I also was really excited for what was coming in this month.

This months theme was Beauty Candy and Ipsy says: This month, we're whipping up the most delicious beauty confections for you in your October "Beauty Candy" Glam Bag. You'll find both beauty tricks and beauty treats all month long, with colorful and eye-catching eye-candy that you can see and sample!

and now for the goodies this month!!!

As I said last month when it wasn't that exciting to me that this month would probably be great and let's just say that
Ipsy delivered.  I'm in love with this whole set.  I love the bag and the items and it is a homerun to me.

  • Figs & Rouge Hand Creme in Rose Berry ($6.56) - As we are getting into the winter months I will be using hand creme more and more and I love this brand and it smells pretty good too. Not too floral.
  • Epice Purifying Exfoliant ($9.70) - I'll admit that I am not the best at doing a great nighttime routine with my skin. I really need to be better at that and have noticed my facial skin is needed a little more attention lately. I can't wait to give this a try.
  • Modelco Volumeyes Extreme Mascara ($15.50) - This is a deluxe almost full size of the mascara.  I've been using more mascara since I keep getting them in all these boxes and I'm really tossing them more often then I used to which I'm sure is great for my eyes. With all of that I have so much right now that I will get to this one but it will be awhile.
  • StarLooks LipGloss in Guilty Pleasure (~$2.00) - I'm not sure what a full size is of this but I'm going with about $2 for this sample. I'm all about lipgloss and this is a pretty color. I also like the StarLooks brand so I'm dropping this in my bag.
  • Nicole by OPI in Feeling Very Cherry (~ $5.99) - Again I'm guessing on this one in price but that is about what I would pay for this kindof polish and what I'm seeing online.  So of course I was ecstatic to get a nail polish in my bag. That really makes a bag for me and this one is no exception. It is a nice deep rich color and perfect for fall.  This may just be the next color I put on my nails I'm loving it so much.
  • The bag - I don't normally value the bags but this one is great. It has a great feel and is a great color size and pattern. I have a lot of Ipsy bags and this ranks right up there with the best of them.
So that is my bag this month. For the $10 the bag costs I got over $39 worth of products to try and while I knew most of the brands in this bad they products were new to me so that is always fun. I'm still smiling at this bag as I'm going through this review and I still love it a couple days after it came.

So what do you think of this months Ipsy?  Did you get one? What all was in your bag this month?

Have a great Saturday night and have fun with your Ipsy!!!
