Thursday Thoughts

Good morning. I didn't get a chance to link up last week but I'm back today to share and link up with Jen for some Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • This was the first full week of Ns track out and we've been busy. His first choice on Monday was to go to the library for some new books to read.

  • Then we spent a full day at the pool and another day we went to a park and did a nature walk.  We actually saw some dear on the walk and C tells me we saw a really cute small birdie.  The best part of the walk was the bridge that goes over the highway. They both thought that was pretty cool.  We finished off the day at a used bookstore.  N loves digging through the shelves to see what goodies he can find.

  • Oh remember my clean desk I shared on Monday?  That afternoon the neighbors were over and they spent hours playing cars on my desk. LOL they had different heats and pairings and were trading and coming up with winners.  Who knew it would be so entertaining.

  • Oh and on the who knew category N can now make it across the monkey bars in the backyard.  He was out there and he said so close and then all of a sudden he was screaming that he made it. LOL I went out and of course took a video that you could see if you followed me on instagram and then took some pictures.  He did it over and over and over. My arms would have been killing me.

I thought today was going to be a bit of a down day but we are getting ready to head out for some errands and then see how it goes. This weekend we have flag football and my dad and stepmom are coming up to watch him and do some lunch. Should be fun and the weather is looking great.  What all are you guys up to this week? Big plans for the weekend?

Have a magical day,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday and link up

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Time for this weeks TV Talk. Take a look around and if you want to join up you can link up down at the bottom. :) Since I watch most things on Tivo my shows are all out of order most of the time so feel free to chat about anything you are watching or have watched. I read a lot of info on shows even the ones that I don't watch.

M and I finally worked our way through last seasons Bones.  While I still love Bones and watch reruns on tv almost daily it is not a show that I still feel I have to watch right away when it airs.  Are you guys still watching?  The end of this season was interesting. I like that they are delving into Booths addictions a bit more and bringing Pelant back into the mix was interesting.  I know that they didn't know if they were going to get another season so while the last episode would have worked as a series finale I'm glad that there will be more.  I really like when a finale episode either gives us flashbacks or a flash forward to the future as a way to send it off in style.  I know the show is starting to wind down and we probably only have one more season or so but it will live on in rerun and I'm sure to watch it for many years to come.

This is more of a question but I love Harry Potter weekends on ABCFamily but why are they skipping Goblet of Fire?  The last couple weekend they have skipped that movie. I know that they can't show all the movies due to time but why always skip the same one.  Do they not know I need my Robert Pattinson time?  Funny that FX was showing some of the Twilight movies this weekend so I could have switched over but the boys love the HP movies way more then the Twilight ones so I left it on.  I don't keep up with all the HP behind the scenes news so maybe there is a reason they skip GoF each time but I think they should mix it up a bit.

Does anyone still watch General Hospital? You all know that I record it and then ff through it to keep up but I have been paying attention to watch how they send Luke off to the sunset. I liked the story leading up to this last week pretty much. With him having a semi split personality and being a bad guy that was behind so much going on in PC really was pretty cool as he has been around so long that no one would suspect him. However here lately it feels like they have really been dragging it out. It was nice to have some of the characters he's dealt with and the boys come back but it was very rushed and then really didn't have a ton of to do with the rest of the show.  Hmm now that I write that it has me thinking. While his part of the story really doesn't have a ton for the show him bringing Lulu in and Dillon lead to the Dante diabolical so that will have some repercussions coming up I'm sure.  Oh but who am I kidding this is GH so anything can happen. LOL  I aslo read this week that they have some new head writers coming in so I'm excited to see the changes that they make.

Let's end today with another really good soapy show Mistresses!!!!  Did you all see last weeks show?  OMG it was so not what I was expecting. That ending was just crazy.  I was thinking it would go another way and possible Joss would be raped or something but I never expected the guy to be shot. I don't think that Calista had anything to do with it since he seemed like a sleazebag all around.  I'm going with maybe the ex-girlfriend or possible the guy Calista had been sleeping with.  So many possibilities.  Now how about Karen?  That has to be a so weird situation all around. That looks to be a weird dynamic and that they haven't really talked it out yet. I wonder how it will play out in the end.

So that's about it for today's TV Talk. I'm adding a link up here if you want to check out some other peoples chats and let me know what shows you are loving this season.
Happy Viewing,
Jenny

Currently

It's actually Monday morning and I'm linking up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently post.

Currently.....

Excited--- with N tracked out for the next couple of weeks I have three whole weeks of not having to pack lunches. :)  This probably has me a little too excited. LOL

Cheering--- on N as he is loving playing flag football.  This weekend M was out skydiving so I actually went and paid attention to the game. ;)  N really loves it and his coach is great so they all rotate around positions for now. They are all just learning and are so small this works great for them.  They can't all be QB all the time. LOL

Loving--- as always my little men.  They can fight like tooth and nail one minute and then be this stinkin' cute the next.  This is there we are at Wendys so we should take a picture pose. Since doesn't everyone take pictures at Wendys?

Exhausted--- so our house had a loft area that we had built out into my craft room and Ms office.  When we had the boys we decided to get that area enclosed into a guest room and move my stuff downstairs.  Well that sounded all great and stuff until I realized that my craft area is right inside the front door.  So not only am I not a neat crafter but everything gets set on in as we move around downstairs. It was piling up into a huge mess.  So today was the day that I tackled the every growing pile.  I've got a pretty good start on it now and at least can see an ending in site.  Thanks to Brandy over at Hello Subscription for talking with me about organization the other day and getting this project on my mind ;) So while I'm not done I can at least see the desk top and I threw a ton of stuff away and got a pile of stuff ready to tag for an upcoming Stampin' Up consignment sale I participate it.  Woohoo

So I think that is my latest recap.  With N tracked out this week we are going to try and do a ton of random things around town like go to the park, the pool, the library etc.  He has also decided he wants to help with meal planning so we'll see what kindof things get added to our list for the week.

Have a great week everyone!!!

My Paper Pumpkin March 2015 Box Review

I told you guys I had some My Paper Pumpkin kits that I finished and was going to share and here I am.  I worked on this one at my neighborhood craft club night the last couple months.

My Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription box from Stampin' Up that will send you a project box each month with cards or another paper project that can be completed in about 30 minutes.  The cost of the box is $19.95. If you are not ready to sign up for a monthly box you can now purchase a set 1,3,6,9 or 12 month subscription. These will need to be placed through my Stampin' Up store http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryID=1444&dbwsdemoid=94340  this will give you the prepaid options.  As I posted the other day right now there is a discount for 50% off your first two months if you use the code HALFOFF between now and September 10, 2015.  You can see all the info and details in my other post HERE.

This was the kit for March 2015 and was called Sew You.  Being that I was at craft club I forgot to take an over all picture of the supplies but there were enough to make 9 cards.  I also thought it was very on trend right now with the sewing since I keep seeing projects with a little sewing in them all over the place right now.

The stamp set for this month. These are some really great sayings to keep on hand. I have all of my My Paper Pumpkin stamp sets in a case that I take with me when I go scrapping.  It gives me a great assortment of sayings and images to use for fun.  Hmm seeing this picture makes me realize I really need to clean my stamping cleaner pads. LOL  I also keep the small ink spots and take those with me too so that I'm not hauling my big pads around all the time. It is a great way to get a combination of colors to work with on other projects.

Since I was making these to give to Ns teachers I made all of mine say Thank You.  I needed lots of Thank you cards.  I do love that the YOU was already prepunched so all I had to do was stitch it. This was a great project to do while I was chatting with the girls at the club.

And here are some of my cards.  The kit came with the stickers and N helped me add them to the labels.  I'm loving the patterned card bases too.  The pop of yellow yarn is perfect for these cards.

I really love getting my Paper Pumpkin kit each month and having a fun quick project to work on.  This one was so different from what I normally do but I loved it and so did N and his teachers.

Happy Crafting,
Jenny

Orange you Glad Teacher Gift

As most of you know we go to a year round school here so N has been in for 3 weeks and is getting ready to track out for 3 weeks.  I was at Target the other week and bought a cute mug for his teacher that we wanted to give as a quick " Have a Great Track out" gift. This was a weird summer with the school so the teachers had short summers to and we love his new teacher.

As with some of my other mugs it really hard to take a picture of the whole thing at one time.  I love love love these picks that we made in the Big Shot.  The original stamp set looked to be a little gardeny for me but I could see its uses and I've really used them a ton.  There is a new stamp set in the new catty that has some other uses too.

N and I stamped all the picks outlines and then we used some of the photopolymer stamp sets letters to stamp our saying.

Next up was to use the magnetic platform and line up the framelit so that we could cut it out.  This is where the magnetic platform really comes in handy since it holds the position of the framelit and the stamp.

Ns favorite part. He loves using the Big Shot and everything we talk about a project he asks if we are going to use it.  And as you can see we've been doing a lot of crafts lately. LOL I think one of our trackout activities will be to clear off the table so we can start messing it up again ;)

Here you can see all the picks.  While I wanted to add some buttons or bling of some kind N was happy like this and so I left it.  Well we did add a little to and from tag to it.  Inside he wrote a note and we added an orange water enhancer.

Just a cute and fun gift for an exciting day in a year round school kids life :)

To see all the Stampin' Up products I used check my links below and as always ask if you have any questions.

Happy Crafting,
Jenny

Ipsy July 2015 Summer Lovin' Glambag review

disclaimer: This post contains a referral link for Ipsy and if you joining through me I will get credits for future goodies.

Back again with a look at this months Ipsy.  They still come in the hot pink envelope and I love seeing them in my mailbox each month.  This months theme was Summer Lovin'.  I think they should really have sent this one out earlier since by now with it being so hot for so many days I'm pretty much over summer ;)

In case you need a reminder  Ipsy  is a monthly beauty subscription that gets you 5 items in a cute little bag each month for only $10!!!! (plus tax in certain states).  This is the only makeup type bag I'm getting right now and I still love it. While not every month is a me month overall I'm usually pretty happy.

And now onto this months glambag.  I was excited when I opened the bag envelope since I knew what the bag looked like this month and I love the Ikat pattern. I had not paid too much attention I guess to people really talking about the bag and this one is fabric which I'm loving even more.  Such a great bag this month.

  • Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser ($2.50) - I'm just not a huge cleanser person and I have a ton of them so not sure I will use this one.  I may toss it in a togo bag but otherwise I'll pass it on.
  • Octavio Molina Hair La Playa Salt Spray ($7.25) - I'm really excited for this one. I just finished up a sea salt spray that I had so this will be added into the rotation. I tend to use these more in the summer so perfect timing.
  • Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Balm in French Kiss ($14) - I love this brand and have never tried the lip balm but since I use a balm all the time this should be good.  It is a very light pink so not too over the top which is good to use at anytime.
  • Nudestix Magnetic EyeColor in Gilt ($24) - This came with the pencil sharpener too. This is a glittery neutral shade that I think could also  be good for any day wear. It is however very similar to other shades that I've gotten but I love the chubby crayon application so I may stick with this one.  This one says it is quick drying, non-sticky, long lasting, no animal testing done and preservative free so a great one to keep around.
  • City Color Cosmetics HD Powder ($3.50) - This is used to set your foundation and even out fine lines and wrinkles. Since I don't use foundation very often I'll probably end up passing this one along.

Even though not all these products are for me this month I'm really happy with it over all.  The bag and the salt spray really push me over the edge. :) I do like the other products and will use most of them  I do love the samples and getting to play around with them and for the $10 I spent I got over $50 in products!! So that makes me very happy.

Did any of you get an  Ipsy  bag this month?  What was your favorite item? I'm always excited to see what other items people get since we don't all get the same thing. :)

Jenny

Currently

Yesterday was a busy day so I'm just now getting time to link up with Becky over at Choose Happy for her Currently Monday post again.

Currently.....

Shocked--- both N and C needed haircuts so we went last week. N normally keeps his pretty short so I can spike it up but C has always been a longer hair kid. Not this week. He told the hairdresser he wanted hair like Ns so she looked at me and I nodded and all his hair was gone.  He looks so grown up now.

Amused--- that the boys can be screaming and fighting one minute and then best buds the next.  When this happens they then look at me like I'm crazy for trying to get them to calm down.  This was after one of our for sure disagreements.

And again--- and here is another picture of them.  N usually yells at C to leave him alone when he gets home from school but then they will end up like this and if I let them keep their Ipads they will stay like this for awhile.

Enjoying--- Well I was enjoying the weather here. It was hot but not too muggy at the end of last week so C and I ventured to the park.  He was chilling in the sandbox as Mr. Cool.

Ughing--- I mean really what else can you say? The news is talking about the heat and if you step outside you will feel the heat so there is no getting around it today.  While the high says 96°F with the heat index it will feel like its over 100°.  That is just way to hot for me.

So that is about it for today. I hope everyone has a great week and doesn't melt too hard out there.

Thursday Thoughts

After missing last week I'm back and linking up with Jen for my weekly Thursday Thoughts with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.

  • So I get up about 30min before I have to in the morning so that I can have some quiet time downstair all to myself. ;)  I check my email and maybe watch some tv. If I need to make an early dining call for Disney I do that too. It is wonderful.  Does anyone else do this?  I am more of a morning person so getting up early is better for me then staying up late.
  • So very random but at the store this weekend I needed some eggs.  I normally just buy 6 eggs at a time since we don't really use them well they were out of the 6 packs so what did I get instead?  18 eggs!!!  Yes I blew right past the dozen and went for the 18 since they were onsale for only $.10 more then the dozen. LOL  How many eggs did I need for the muffins I was making this weekend? Just 2. LOL so what in the world am I going to do with the rest of these eggs.  No clue but looks like I need to be doing some baking.

  • I haven't watched yet but I'm way too excited that Wahlburgers was back on last night.  I love me some Donnie. Then he is also one Donnie loves Jenny and to cap off the night they have the Lachey brothers now.  It really is boy bandpalooza on Wed night.
  • Speaking of boybands. We are now in full R5 fandom in our house.  The concert was awesome and all N talks about. He wore his shirt on Monday and has been asking everyday to wear it again. LOL unfortunately it is still dirty and mommy hasn't done the laundry yet ;)  I think once a week with the same shirt is enough.  I was an awesome mom again on Monday since I picked up their new cd when I was at Target.  I had it waiting in the car for him when I picked him up from carpool. As I'm writing this I just set the Tivo to record todays Kelly & Michael since R5 is performing so N can watch it later tonight too.

  • Yesterday C had his first eye appointment and they dilated his eyes and gave him cool kid shades. He thought he was hot stuff and didn't give me any issues wearing the glasses at all. He was not fond of the blurriness with the dilation but he was great.

So this might be one of my most random Thursday Thoughts every. I seem to be all over the place.  Anyway have a great day and a great weekend!!!

Happy Thursday,
Jenny
