Almost my month :)

For those that don't know my birthday is March 22.  My birthday is my favorite holiday of the whole year and I start the countdown on March 1st. :)  But I'm going with my birthday month officially starting today as my Birthday coupons have started to come. I love birthday coupons and getting goodies and freebies.

Today I got an email from Swagbucks, a coupon for my local Hallmark store and my DSW coupon. I'm very excited and can't wait to see what other birthday goodies I get.

So tell me what is your favorite birthday coupon? I need to make sure I'm signed up to get it.;)

Good Morning

Good Monday morning everyone!!!  Is is a holiday for you? N doesn't have school today but he does get to go to the dentist.  I'm sure he is thrilled. :)  I'm looking forward to a slow moving morning after my busy weekend. Saturday we had snow here which didn't stick at all at my house but it didn't matter to me since I went scrapbooking with my girls.  I decided to work on my convention pictures from last year so that I could start getting in the mood for this year.  Here is one of the layouts I did.
Do you watch the show Supernatural? I'm a little obsessed ;)  Last year we went to the convention in Nashville and this year we are going in Las Vegas.  I can't wait.

Sunday was a more laid back day but I did get together with my girls for a movie night. We watched Pitch Perfect.  It was a good movie but I wanted so much more singing.

How was your weekend?  Big plans this week?

Birchbox February 2013 Review

It was a big mail day here and I also got my Birchbox along with my other boxes.  I've been a little busy lately so I haven't looked at spoilers for this box yet but I was happily surprised.  This month I got box number 24.  They have multiple boxes that go out each month and the number varies depending on the samples.  For those that still need to know  Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that costs $10 and you get sample sizes of some items to try. You can then review those items for points to use in the full size store.

These boxes are really cute and my friend said something about covering them to use as gift boxes so if you are expecting anything from me be on the lookout for a recycled box. ;)

My box this month:

  • Wei Pomegranate Buffing Beads - this is a sample of powdered exfoliant to create a scrub. With my trip coming up I plan to take this with me to try out.  (Watch out Michelle I will be bringing lots of samples with me for us to play with throughout the week ;)
  • Juicy Couture Couture LaLa - I don't wear alot of perfume but this is a fresh scent that I'll probably take with me too.
  • Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask - this is the little tub which I'm guessing is enough for one mask.  I don't really do masks very often so this will be another something to try.
  • Color Club nail polish in Mamba - I'm of the you can never have too many nail polishes so this is exciting to me. I'm in the process of tossing some old polishes so this will replace an old red. Its also a mini size which is great since who ever uses a whole bottle of polish.
  • Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle - I have pretty normal hair so I don't use a ton of extra products but this says it does seven hair-healing functions: instant detaingler, thermal protector, UV protection, seals cuticle, smoothes hair, locks in color and adds shine so I'm sure it will be good for my hair.  Again I'm thinking I'll give this is a shot and see how it works out.
  • Ghirardelli Milk & caramel square - this was just a little extra for us in the box.  M love caramel so I'll pass this on to him.
Did you get a box this month? Which one did you get and what are your thoughts?

POPSugar Feb 2013 Box Review

My February POPSugar Must Have box came today and it is a better one for me then the last couple of months.  I think I'll actually be using all of the items in this box.

I always love opening my box and seeing that it looks so full.
Upon first look inside lots of items were wrapped up nice and neat.
And now onto the goodies:

  • MustHave Fashion - Brokedown Wrap - this is so soft and with some travel coming up I know I will put this to good use. A couple colors were issued to people but I got the white and love it.
  • MustHave Fashion - Hanky Panky Thong - I must live under a rock since everyone is raving on this brand and I've never heard of it. I'm also very excited it came in my favorite share of green.  Another item that will get some love.
  • MustHave Food - Mariebelle New York's Tresor Box - these are dark chocolate beads and who doesn't love chocolate.
  • MustHave Beauty - Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stick - I got the Romantic color and again this is something people are raving on but I've never tried so excited to give it a whirl.
  • MustHave Entertainment - Nichols Sparks Safe Haven - I've actually not read this book and even though I wish that movie tickets were included like the last time they gave us a book I'm happy with this and a code for a song from the movie.
  • MustHave Home - Connoisseurs Quick Jewelry Cleanser - I actually notices the other day that my rings need some cleaning so I will give this to M to do it for me ;) He is my go to jewelry cleaner so he will be very excited to have this.
  • Special Extra - Conversation Hearts - This box was supposed to be here for Valentine's Day but mine didn't make it however I do like these and will take them scrapbooking with me tomorrow.
So over all this is a good month for me and I can't wait to dig into the goodies. For those that want to know POPSugar Must Have is a monthly subscription box that costs $35 a month and you get a box of MustHave goodies to enjoy. Let me know if you get the box and what did you think.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

N had his party at preschool yesterday and we were asked not to bring in food items so I was on the hunt for another idea. I came across an idea for a Love Bug in a mason jar and thought hmm I have a mason jar die from Stampin' Up and my mind went from there.  My mason jar is smaller then some that I had seen so I got online and found something that I could put in the jar and went from there. N loves helping with my Big Shot. I lined up the die on the paper and he cranks it through. Its a great way to get him involved in the crafting.

Then we needed a little something for the teachers.  I had just gotten the new honeycomb folder and have been wanting to use it. What could be better then a Bee card.  Actually on this card the honeycomb the paper tape and the Designer Paper are all brand new in the mini and they are a shade of pink. Having two boys I don't get a chance to use alot of pinks so this was a departure for me but I love it.

Did you have to make cards for Valentine's Day?
I hope you have a great one.

disclaimer: Yeap that is my Stampin' Up link up there. I'm still a demo and you can order from me or ask any questions.

So What Wednesday

Its So What Wednesday over at Life After I Do and I'm linking up!  This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...

  • I sent M to the store this morning to get gift cards for the teachers Valentines for the party today.
  • C and I have gotten into a pattern of going to DD for donuts almost every other morning.
  • I still haven't watched last weeks Vampire Diaries. I may wait now and have a little mini marathon.
  • My house was so clean for the birthday party last weekend and you'd never know it now.
  • I have so much to do but all I want to do is sit and play with my new Stampin' Up supplies.
  • The UPS man knows me even when we see him outside of my house.  I promise I do not get that many packages ;)
So that's my list for this week. What are you saying SO WHAT for?

Waffle Bat

Since tomorrow is Valentine's Day I decided to show you a Halloween Page. :)  Enjoy!!!

This is from last years Halloween and it was a rainy nasty night but that's not really what I'm showing you on the page. ;)  I have been buying the waffle papers from Stampin' Up as they come out but I don't use them a ton.  When I was creating this page I made a not and it looked like a bat so I added some googlie eyes. I love the final result.

So let me know when have you used something a little different on your pages?  I may need to try it out.

disclaimer: Yeap thats the link to my site. I'm a demo so I do get credit when you buy from me.

Goodies Box Feb 2013 Review

I admit I've  been so busy lately that I have not been stalking the mailman for packages so I was really surprised when my Goodies Box came today. This month I got Tasters Box 2 and to be honest I haven't looked at sneak peeks for this one to know how many boxes there were.  Goodies for those that don't know is a subscription box that costs $7 a month and they send a box of tasty snacks for you to enjoy.
The theme this month is Better Together and the info card tells me that they are featuring classic favor combos as well as unexpected pairings so it's sure to be love at first bite.  Sounds good to me.

Now for the goodies:
  • Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams and Smooth Operator - These are two individual servings of peanut butter. One is a regular natural peanut butter and the other is peanut butter blended with rich dark chocolate.  I'm not a huge PB fan but I can see breaking this out with some crackers for a snack.
  • Snack wells Yogurt Pretzels - its a 100 calorie pack and I know my boys will dig into it.
  • Enjoy Life Plentis Crunchy Lentil Chips - File this under the I've never heard of it category but since we are chip hounds in my house they will be eaten quickly.
  • Nabisco Chips Ahoy Chewy Chocolate Chip with Reese's - This has Ms name written all over it.  I actually bought another version of a reeses chocolate chip cookie last week and he complained that it wasn't the chewy kind so Goodies must have been listening and sent just what he's been wanting ;)
  • J&Ds Bacon POP - The description for this one says Bacon makes everything better, doesn't it? The unexpected hit of smokey bacon flavor in this light and fluffy vegetarian popcorn makes for quite a delicious duo Uhm I just have to say that NO I will not be eating this as it is grossing me out just thinking of it. LOL but my brother is a bacon goes with everything guy so I will be sending this to him.  I don't think he reads my blog but if he does HI Ryan!!! You will be getting mail soon. ;)
  • Nutty Bean ChickPz - I've never had chick peas as a snack but this looks good.  I got the Sweet and Spicy Chipolte.  I'm all over the spicy so this is on my snack list.
Over all I think this is a good box. Did you get your box yet? What did you think.

Ipsy Feb 2013 Review

WOW I had no idea that Ipsy was coming today.  My boys are having their birthday party tomorrow so I haven't been keeping up with it. Then I opened the mailbox and my pink bubble envelope was in there.  Woohoo yeah for me. :)

I will say this is probably my least favorite bag so far. Its kindof flimsy compared to the other ones we've gotten. :( It is a decent size though so I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

And now for the goodies:

  • pixi - Flawless & Poreless face primer - I'm just getting into the world of primers so I'm always up to try a new one.
  • POP beauty - smokey black mascara - I'm actually pretty good on mascara but my mom just mentioned she needed some sample sizes so I'll pass this one one to her.
  • Coastal Scents - In the Spotlight sample set - I love these colors and since I've now gotten a couple of these sets I'm going to need to look into getting a holder for them. Hmm has ipsy every sent those out?
  • Mica beauty - I admit I have no idea what this is. LOL I had to go and look through their facebook page for the hint and I see that its a gel liner. I've never used it so I'll have to figure out how but I do like the idea.
  • Lash Card mascara shield - This is one of those products that I never knew existed but I can see how it can be so helpful. I can't wait to try it.
Overall I think this is an ok month. Nothing in it wows me but I will use it all so that is always a plus.

Are you getting Ipsy this month?  It is still my favorite subscription box that I get and I love getting it so fast since I live in NC. :) What do you think?

NatureBox Feb 2013 Box Review

My newest NatureBox came yesterday and I was ready to dig right in.
This year they have modified their boxes so that you can select the items that you want in the box or you can take a random one. I opted to grab some things I knew I would like and a couple that I want to try.

  • Firecrackers
  • Cinnamon Spiced Granola
  • Roasted Garlic Pumpkin Seeds
  • Apple Rings
  • Big Island Pineapple
So what did you opt to get this month? We're they good?

Julep Jan 2013 Review

I jumped at the chance to try Julep. They had a special the other week where you could get your first box for 1cent plus shipping so for a total of $4.00 I got 3 polishes. Yes please sign me up.  Julep is a monthly subscription box for $19.95 and they will send you the selections they have chosen for you and you can pass on a month if you want.  When you first sign up you fill out a questionnaire and they pick your selections from there.

From my questions they decided I was classic with a twist. I would say this is right on for me.  The first look into my box was so cute.

I was already excited when I saw there was an extra goodie in it for me and a cute little package with my polish.

And now for my selections. I'm excited to try them all.

  • Barbara - this is a pretty purple glitter
  • Meryl - This is a great silver grey. I've been wanting a grey so this is great
  • Essential Cuticle Oil - this says to apply daily to strengthen your nails and maintain your manicure. I'm up for giving this a try if it will make the polish last longer. :)
  • and the extra is an SPF15 lip balm. I love lip balm so this is great. The scent is Vanilla Mint and I'm going to use this as the days get warmer.
Over all I'm very happy with my $4 polishes.  I'm not sure I will get it every month but I can see getting it every couple of months to have some new fun polishes to play with.

disclaimer:  Yeap that's my affiliate link in there.  If you decide to try it out through my link I get credits to use towards products from Julep.
