TV Talk - Supergirl, Flash, and Supernatural

The post could contain affiliate links but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I've been so busy that I've gotten behind on my tv watching and it is piling up on my DVR.  I did sit down today and watched a couple new episodes of some of the shows so I thought I would do a CW catch up today.

Let's start with Supergirl.  I'm so glad that it is now on the CW. It fits in there so much better then on CBS last season. I also still love how they work so many Superman genre actors onto the show and how it really  just works. It all just works. This past episode has Kara getting her job back and in the process they deal with her friendship with Lena Luthor.  I love that they are friends but I have a strange feeling it will come back to bite her in the end.  I was pretty excited with the nano-bytes in this episode and it reminded me of Revolution.  I really liked that show and it just ended with no resolution which sucked and I don't think it got much love but in Supergirl they tied up all the nano ends nice and pretty in one episode.  I can't wait until we get more of Terri Hatcher and what all she is up to but I'm thinking she is supposed to be around for next season so they are just giving us the set up now.

Next up lets look at the Flash.  I still really do enjoy this show and while I do think this season has been a bit rockier then the past I still look forward to it each week.  The big bad this season is Savitar and we still do not know who it is. It is a big surprise and since we don't have many episodes left I'm sure they will bring it up.  With the end of this past episode and Killer Frost/Caitlin immediately following him I'm leaning to someone who isn't in the collage above. What if Savitar is Ronny? He was the love of her life and she never really got a chance to get over him. It seems to be just as much a possibility as any of the others and would be a big shock to everyone. I'm finally not always seeing Draco Malfoy when I look at Tom Felton and he really does like Caitlin and I think he is going to be heartbroken in the end. I do hope he sticks around since I think he makes a good addition to the team.

And let's end up with Supernatural since I actually watched it this evening.  This season has been a bit up and down for me. I'm really more into the serialized part of the show and this season I feel has had a lot of stand alone episodes which while good I really like the overall arcing stories.  Tonight's episode was all about the arc and it had Castiel in it which I love. He is so much a part of the team and he's been missing for far to long.  It really brought us back into the story and set us up for the last couple of episodes and I can't wait. I'd love to finish this baby storyline and I'd like to get rid of the British Men of Letters. They seem so odd this season and maybe that is why I haven't been all into it as much.

So I just reread that and I'm really all over the place. I guess it goes with my randomness and my thoughts this evening. It has been a busy long week and hopefully will slow down some this weekend and I can take a breath and watch some more tv.

Have a great night and enjoy your TV watching!

TV Talk Tuesday

So who is ready for some TV Talk?  I feel like I got behind last week with everything going on but after this weekend we need to do some talking.  Shows are also coming back from hiatus and gearing up for their final pushes towards the season finales which always means lots of excitement and shocks.
As always there will be SPOILERS below so enter at your own risk.

Let's start with the big one this weekend and the Walking Dead.  Oh my goodness while the episode was really a big setup for the finale next week it was still pretty good. Carol is still a badass even if she is losing her mind a bit. I feel bad for Maggie and I hope everything is ok with the baby. And let's not even get me started with that cliffhanger at the end.  I do not think that Daryl is dead but he obviously got shot so hopefully its just a flesh wound of sorts.  That does leave him open for what happens next week with Negan though.  I'm just a little too excited for Negan to show up next week and while I won't go to much into it right now I think we are in for another cliffhanger which is really going to suck.  LOL  This show really just keeps getting better and better.  If you are as addicted as I am the don't forget to check out Sonequa and Lauren on Lip Sync battle this week.

Next up is Supergirl.  I loved this weeks episode and the crossover with the Flash. They had great chemistry and I loved seeing her interact with someone who is kindof like her.  It also pushed along her relationship with James which was a little long overdue if you ask me.  Myriad will be interesting to see how it plays out.  I guess my biggest issue isn't even one with the show and its more with DC.  I'm so used to Marvel and basically everyone living in the same world to then deal with DC where everyone lives in their own little bubble that it takes something special to happen for them to get together.  I am wondering in the Legends can cross Earths like they can cross time. They then would be able to go to any show but I'm not sure if that is possible or not. Anyone read the comics and have more incite?

Oh my who watched the finale of Younger?  This show is awesome and I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being her age. Although I can't even imagine going back and redoing life. I love where I am right now but I do love the premise of the show. It is however looking like it is coming to a head and I'm hoping that next season her secret is revealed at least to a few more people.  If you haven't watched yet you really  need to binge it.  It is so fun and zany and fresh.  Plus the guys don't hurt either ;)

Happy watching,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday on Wednesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

So I just never got a chance to finish this up yesterday so here it is on Wednesday and I'm going to talk some TV.

So let's start with the big talk of the week and the midseason finale of the Walking Dead.  I will go ahead and say I thought it was just a meh episode. I think if it was a finale and I knew that I wasn't going to have new ones for a couple months it would have been ok but still nothing to write home about.  It did kindof show what is going on after the wall fell and seeing that we are loosing Deanna is also sad but I want to know what happened to the other Alexandrians. I know some of the have to make it out of here and just where are they? It almost felt like the episode should have been 90min and have something big happen right at the end.  I'm guessing that we will now have something big to kick off the second half of the season which I just noticed is Valentine's Day. LOL  What a great present lets cuddle up and watch some walkers kill a couple of people on tv. LOL ok I just couldn't resist since that would be a great idea for a present for me. :)

I also got a chance to watch Supergirl this week and I will say this show is growing on me. I'm starting to care for the characters and I want to see how it plays out.  With that this week was a little weaker then the last couple and while I know they had to get a way to have Lucy stay in town and this was the vehicle for that.  I'm also loving the interaction between Alex and Max.  There is something going on with him and I'm sure it will come out but I like that he helped out and that he seems to like Alex. They have some chemistry going on so I'm sure a hookup is in the future and really anytime you can get Peter Facinelli in a romantic scene I'm happy but I do like him playing a bit of a villain too.

I also just got a chance to catch up on Once Upon a Time and oh my do I love Hook when he is all villainess.  Hmm maybe I have a thing for the bad boys ;)  I can't wait to see how it plays out next week with the extra badguys thrown in the mix.  It was not what I was expecting when he went dark and I was kindof hoping that he and Swan would be dark together but I guess what they are saying is that while she was the darkness she was never really dark.  Hook on the other hand plays the character really well and I like him a bit evil and bad guy versus kindof being as he put it a lovesick puppy dog.  I like him with an egde.  Also very random I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned but I love the opening sequence for OUaT and how they work a symbol for the episode in the background of the shot. This week it was Hook's ship.  I think that is just a fun and different way to change up the opening.

So that is what I'm thinking about right now. Many shows are having finales this week and next and then I'll try and catch up on some of the shows I haven't had a chance to watch yet this season.  I've heard good things about many of them.

Have a great week,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Excited to talk some TV today.

Let's start this week off with some Vampire Diaries.  Like I've said before I'm liking this season and I think they are doing a good job with Elena being going.  I'm also liking the little flash forwards that they are starting the episodes with. They are giving us a little flash at what happens 3 yrs in the future and something major must have happened since our main cast is all spread out and doing their own thing.  I'm also still trying to figure out who the hunter is and they keep showing me people so we can know who it isn't.  Still so many possibilities.  So this week we saw Bonnie and Enzo together and then we saw some interaction in the current time line with them and you can start to see some of the flirtation there.  So fun.  I'm also happy to see Jo back even though she isn't really Jo but her and Alaric seem to be trying to work it out for now but I'm sure something will come up since we were told the souls were old vampire souls so that vampire tendencies should show themselves soon.  eeeh so exciting and I love when they get more Alaric on the screen so this could be a big story arc for him.

Next up is Supergirl.  Uhm can someone remind me that Peter Facinelli is going to be the show. LOL I kindof remember now that I've seen him that I read he was going to be on it but I had forgotten so I got a nice little boost.  Of course I'm sure he will end up being a bad guy of some kind but I like him so far.  This week also introduced us to Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane and since I like her as an actress I hope she sticks around. It will also help keep the Jimmy/Kara stuff as a will they or won't they relationship.  It also strikes me as funny that Kara and Clark are Iming. It seem so ridiculous to me that Supergirl and Superman have to message each other but it just makes things so much more normal and common place.

M and I have finally caught up on Bones too.  I will say I was a little skeptical when they were going to do a cross over with Sleepy Hollow since I don't care for Sleepy Hollow and couldn't get through the first season but they made it work and it was only a little awkward.  I did not go and watch the SH episode since I feel the Bones one was wrapped up and I didn't need more info but I'm sure it was fine too.  I'm also warming to Aubrey  he is by no means Sweets but he is coming into his own and fitting in better with the group. I just wish they had hired someone a bit more different. I mean he is a psychologist like Sweets was but he still a very similar character.

I'm going to work on catching up on some more shows this week and I'll be back next week for some more talk.
Happy Viewing,
Jenny

TV Talk Tuesday

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Are we ready to talk some TV?  Fare warning there are spoilers below so enter at your own risk. I love talking TV and since there is a big thing we need to discuss this week it could get juicy.

So first up is the big episode of the Walking Dead. OMG I was just in shock when I first watched it and then I watched it again and I read some reviews and spoilers and I'm pretty sure Glenn is not dead.  I'm not sure exactly how he gets out of the herd but he is a survivor and I think he will make it.  I do have to wonder why they didn't just at least look and jump over the hedges at least to give it a shot but that is just me looking at the whole area.  I'm kindof more concerned with Rick and the RV. I think this is the first time that I've seen Rick actually look kindof defeated. I don't think the surprise attack did him any good and then to see the baby food in the guys jacket he knows that they were in Alexandria.  Next week looks to be a Morgan backstory episode and is also 90 minutes so I don't know if we get 90 minutes of him or if he is just part of it and the rest of the team getting back to Alexandria is in there too. With the way this season is going it could be a couple weeks before we see what happens to Glenn but I'm hoping they at least give us a little glimpse of hope soon.

Next up is the Vampire Diaries.  Ok so originally I thought Caroline was the vampire hunter but since that isn't the case I'm wondering if maybe Bonnie is or their mother.  Since it is in the future it could be almost anyone.  Speaking of Caroline who is she engaged too?  Is it Tyler? It was nice to see him worked in but not sure why they would if he wasn't going to be part of the plan. The open bleeding wound thing is a little disturbing and has me all confused.  I will say that I am loving this season. While I will miss Elena since I liked her as a character they had kindof ran the course of the love triangle and I'm glad they are having to think outside the box and change up the season. It really has revitalized the show.

So who watched Supergirl last night? I actually was up so I went ahead and watched it.  Hmm I just don't know what to think yet. I liked it but it wasn't anything to write home about.  I will have to see a couple more episodes and then decide since it is so hard to determine a show based on the pilot. There is so much they have to introduce that they do often seem rushed and not as coherent until a couple episodes it.  So overall I liked it but didn't love it and I will be checking out some more episodes.

What shows are you loving so far this season?  Have you dropped any off your watch list already? The networks have started cutting episode orders and cancelling shows so it should get real interesting soon.

Happy Viewing,
Jenny
